Juniper Jane sounds like a character from the Beano. Like Beryl the Peril.

Oysterbabe · 12/05/2017 10:10

I like Juniper Jane. Little JJ.

SuperFlyHigh · 12/05/2017 10:04

TheGirl you could pronounce Rowan both ways but I'd say it to pronounce to Low, myself.

TheGirlOnTheLanding · 12/05/2017 09:13

Love love love Rowan for a girl - but how would you pronounce it? For me it's Row to rhyme with Now, not to rhyme with Low.

I also like Hazel.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 12/05/2017 09:04

❤️ Jane.

heateallthebuns · 11/05/2017 19:32

I don't like juniper, it sounds like a fairy or someone from the borrowers. I like the rest though!

Chatelherault · 11/05/2017 19:31

Lydia is a nice name along the same lines

SuperFlyHigh · 11/05/2017 19:07

Well maybe your sense of humour isn't coming across well in text... No worries!

Glad you like Rowan. Smile

CoralieConfused · 11/05/2017 16:24

Nonsense, all this solemn lecturing about behaviour. Some random poster came on to berate me for starting the thread in the first place (??), and some other people helpfully commented that they hated all the names, or asked 'what fresh hell is this' regarding a name I love. And I can't answer that? Please.
I really like Rowan for a girl, it's going on my Linnet list 😊

Ah I remember now, Rowan/Rowen was the name a friend's DD (now grown up) has.

SuperFlyHigh · 11/05/2017 13:54

To be honest OP, a lot of stuff on MN wafts over me, but you have jumped down at least one poster's throat here, over this.

BertrandRussell · 11/05/2017 12:51

Jane is very uncommon now- there are more baby Junipers than baby Janes!
And always remember who is it who has to be brave when it comes to "off the wall" names. Clue, it's not the parents.

BreezyThursday · 11/05/2017 12:43

As someone who wasn't brave enough for Juniper and loves January, would love to know what you decide, OP.

Love loads of the other suggestions. Actually think Jane is one of those names which sounds boring but is actually quite nice and won't be common in a couple of generations.

needastrongone · 11/05/2017 12:18

Is it?

CoralieConfused · 11/05/2017 11:24

This is very odd

Rockaby has objectively outlined how your posts come over OP. Without making it personal, just stating how her/she reads the posts. Your response justifies her comments.

Fwiw, that's how the read to me too. I am simply stating factually how I find them. That's all.

Also consider that you DC will also be a teen and an adult. So it's worth considering whether what works on a small child also works later in life.

Again, good luck.

Rockaby · 11/05/2017 11:10

"Ill tempered and confrontational... shockwine"

Sorry, I'm not really sure what you mean?

CoralieConfused · 11/05/2017 11:08

I don't think DP and I have actually fought about it, more just been stubborn and wound each other up a bit - me with Bramble for example

"I am not shirty"

I beg to differ, sorry. I like some of your name choices as it goes, but you are definitely coming across as shirty. I'm sure you don't mean to, but some of your posts just sound a bit ill-tempered and confrontational to me tbh. I'm sure they're meant with a wry smile, but it isn't coming across well, to me at least.

Anyway, good luck fighting it out some more with your OH. I hope naming your baby is as fun and exciting task for you as it should be, regardless of fighting / differences in opinion Flowers.

CoralieConfused · 11/05/2017 10:27

I am not shirty 😏 People seem oddly overinvested in trying to prove me so, just seems rather unhelpful

OP posts:
spacecowboy99 · 11/05/2017 10:21

Usually with these sort of threads I much prefer one option or the other, it's unusual not to be able to pick.

Okdoke 🙄

OP you are too funny. You ask a question, don't like the replies to said question, and then get shirty about honest replies.

Hope you manage to agree on a name without any more fights with your DP. Some nice suggestions in the thread.

needastrongone · 11/05/2017 10:08

And folk are allowed to question and voice opinion too you know, why the Hmm, I see nothing wrong with that statement.

I'm not desperately, massively keen on any of the choices. But that's cool, they're your choices and I wish you all the best in your deliberations and pregnancy.

needastrongone · 11/05/2017 10:04

Please tell me you are actually pregnant OP and this is not all speculation?Smile
