Maisie conjures up 'scullery maid' to me, not that there's anything wrong with that.

It sounds old lady, and also nicknamey - it lacks substance.

Jemma is a very different sort of name. If I had to choose, I'd go for Jemma/Gemma.

Maisie is ok if you are 4 years old but not when you are 40 imo.

Maisie is ok but a bit more of a dog name. Saying that my own name is given to dogs. I just much prefer Jemma/Gemma

Jemima is also very pretty.

Maisie is really not feminine to me. I find it cute, mousy and a little cartoony, sorry.

Personally I think Maisie sounds harsh. Nothing pretty or feminine about it for me. It sounds like the name of a downtrodden servant.

Jemma if I had to choose... Maisie is like a dusty little mouse or a scullery maid. Jenna is lovely though, and Jemima.

I'd have said the exact opposite. To me Jemma is an everywoman name whereas Maisie is the name of a 1930s charwoman. Maybe a scullery maid. Definitely not a parlour maid though.

Jemma has very strong (working-) class connotations for me.

Maisie seems less placeable on the socio-economic ladder, and that can only be a good thing in this class-obsessed country!

I don't mind Jemma actually in spite of it being a bit 80s, prefer it to Gemma (and to Maisie). How about Jenna?

I prefer Maisie, though neither are really my cup of tea if I'm honest. There's nothing wrong with them, they just aren't to my taste.

How about Jemima with nn Jemma?

Maisie is too cutesy and trendy imo.

I personally prefer Gemma, but Jemma is also really nice.
