Names related to Paris, please help!

My DD was conceived in Paris and my dp has set his heart on the name Paris and I really, really don't want to call her Paris! It will also be incredibly awkward when we have to explain to her why we named her Paris, how can I compromise on this? Can anyone think of any names related to Paris or suggest any French names, but not Paris! Thanks.

Genevieve was a medieval saint and is the patroness of Paris...

Lutetia is great! Madeleine is lovely though.

I didn't conceive DD in Paris but I did get the positive pregnancy test while there. She was such a longed for baby after multiple losses so I gave her a French name as a kind of nod to the change of fortune that began with that positive test. I'm not sure I'll ever tell her that though. Her name isn't overtly French so it's more a private thing for me and DH.

They don't need to say it's where she was conceived, simply that they were in Paris before she was born and had such a lovely time that it inspired her name. She will probably be able to count it back at some point but will never know for sure.

True. I really hope they go with Genevieve or Francesca (both really lovely names, imo).

Do you remember where exactly in Paris she was conceived? For example if you had sex with you husband in the lavatories of the Louvre, you can call her Musée du Louvre. If it happened near the Norte Dame she can be Gargoyle. If it happened in a hotel; No.32 Rue De (insert name of street).
If you don't remember the exact location just call her Ile de France.

Is it really just the place of her conception or is it maybe also... IDk, the place of your honeymoon, for example?

I once met a woman who proudly told me that her middle name was ... (don't want to mention it here, think a clearly Japanese name), because her parents were in Japan when she was conceived...
I was a bit surprised. But it seems like some people don't mind it.

Have to agree with hip and super really! It's a horrible idea to me, but each to their own etc.

Gabrielle (after Coco Chanelle, wasn't she born in/near Paris?)
Marie (Curie met her husband in Paris)

Ask your husband to think about his parents having sex.

When he goes Confused then say - this is what you want our child to feel every time she is asked about her name.

And don't do it.

You could give her a French name? Something like Elodie, Juliette, Camille, Ines, Margot, Amelie, Elise, Eloise, Celeste?

Lucy means light.

Struggling to think of a name that is relevant to Paris, think about your hotel name, the area you stayed, anything that is personal to you that could be transferred to a name.

You could possibly use the letters in the word "Paris" and find a name, for example "Sira" "Pria" "Ria"

Or maybe compromise on a name you both like, dd would have been named "bed" Grin
