Lucas

If you have a name that is unfamiliar to most, then you will get asked how to spell is or people will spell it phonically. That is different from having a name that is usually spelled one way, which you then choose to spell differently. That is just a real pain in the ass for anyone who has to go through life with that name.
So, I'd go with either Aaron or Lucas - both nice enough names, but I'd never give a child a well known name, spelled in a different way.

CeriBerry · 29/04/2017 13:39

Aron is very standard in Wales! Once again anything that's not anglocentric gets labelled an issue.

I like Aron, OP.

HardcoreLadyType · 29/04/2017 11:09

I also live in London, and my non-standard spelling is still a PITA.

Spadequeen · 29/04/2017 11:08

Doesn't matter whether people prefer Aaron or Lucas, the question asked was Aron or Lukas?

Lukas for me

SleepFreeZone · 29/04/2017 11:03

I think Aaron and Lucas look a lot better than Aaron/Lukas. In terms of which I like best then probably Aaron.

DarkLake · 29/04/2017 11:02

We are going with Aron/Lukas, thanks. Although yes we do live in the UK, but we're in London so not going to be a massive issue as lots of names from different cultures.

Seems like Aron wins, thanks Smile

These aren't standard British spellings, which will cause an issue for your son, if you live in the U.K., or another anglophone country.

If they are standard spellings in your own language, fine, but as someone who has an ordinary name with an unusual spelling, I would say it's best to go with a standard spelling.

Having said that, I like Lukas/Lucas better of the two.

TheElephantofSurprise · 29/04/2017 10:55

Aaron. Lucas.

TinfoilHattie · 29/04/2017 10:50

What about Aaron or Lucas?

Oly5 · 29/04/2017 10:46

Lucas

Mrsbclinton · 29/04/2017 09:32

Lucas love that name

usernamealreadytaken · 29/04/2017 09:29

Lucas or Luca, but not with K.

Aaron or Arron, never heard of Aron.

Fragglez · 29/04/2017 09:00

I like the spoken sound of Aron but prefer the Aaron spelling.

DissonantInterval · 29/04/2017 08:58

Lukas for me. I've always liked Lucas/Lukas. it's a strong name.

PaperdollCartoon · 29/04/2017 08:53

Aron, but is there a reason you're spelling it that way?

MiniMaxi · 29/04/2017 08:52

I prefer Lukas

I like both. Not helpful, sorry!

FeedTheSharkAndItWillBite · 28/04/2017 20:43

Sorry, I also really dislike Lukas.

Luca is ok.

I do like Lucien/Lucian. And actually also Lucius. But Aron is a great name imo.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 28/04/2017 20:19

Aron. Really despise Lucas

Justmadeperfectflapjacks · 28/04/2017 19:57

Prefer Lucas spelling. .
