We both like the name Dylan and DH would like Thomas as a middle name in tribute to his best friend who died when they were teenagers. So he'd be Dylan Thomas SURNAME
Are people going to think this is stupid?!? Will people make jokes?

I would assume that you loved the works of the poet but I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. It's a nice name.

Prefer Finlay for what my opinion is worth. Dylan with the special name Thomas looks a bit gimmicky and detracts from a name that is special to you.

Judging by some posts already, I don't think everyone will see it anyway.
I'd choose it if I were a big DT fan.

I guess we don't want people thinking it's about Dylan Thomas the poet. It's a very personal special reason why we want Thomas as the middle name. The other name we like is Finley. So Finley Thomas SURNAME.

Sounds fine, you're using Thomas because it has a special meaning for you, not in homage to the poet and you won't use the middle name that much anyway.
