I have just come across someone who proudly bears the name of Buckmaster de Wolf. It is the awesomest name I have ever heard! Does anyone have any similar awesome names?

I know a lady who kept her maiden name when she got married, otherwise she would have been Mrs. Shirley Worley. I think her married name sounds much more fun

ProseccoPoppy · 25/04/2017 21:31

Hugh Cumber. Junior barrister. Definitely should've been a kid's TV character!

tanfield90 · 25/04/2017 21:29

A couple of American pilots, one of whom I met. His surname was Kuntz. Never knew his first name. The other was, I think, a test pilot. His name was Randy Starbuck (only in America...).

I was at my local playgroup as a youngster with a Justin Tyme. I'm not joking. It could have been worse; Mike Oxbigg, Hugh Janus and so on come to mind.

BTW I HRTFT so apologies if I've repeated some names.

Name, not mane!

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 25/04/2017 20:57

There was a Florian Finkbeiner at dd's kindergarten in Abu Dhabi.

He was a Yank, poor little bugger.

Also in the Gulf, I had a boss called Orville D. Lape,, Jr. (another Yank, needless to say). Best Yank mane I ever heard was Randy Ponce, though.

According to his name badge, a waiter at a hotel in Lagos (Nigeria) was called Mortality.

I used to work with a Sasha Perfect. Her boyfriend was called Hamlet something. She could never have gone out with a Wayne.....

DoItTooJulia · 25/04/2017 20:02

I live a bit of nominative determinism.

I had my brakes repaired by a Mr. Breakwell a couple of years ago.

And I know a bakery manager called Phil Cherry.

And I went to school with a girl who's dad was a GP. Surname Payne. Dr Payne.

Brilliant!

The politician representing the British government in Northern Ireland is called James Brokenshire- which is apt, as, at the moment Northern Ireland is going through a rough political patch.

Vanillaradio · 25/04/2017 19:56

Dh recently had dealings (in a professional capacity!) with a judge called Judge Fudge. He also knows of a Misty O'Hara which sounds glamorous .

Kyyria · 25/04/2017 19:53

Remember coming across a drama therapist called Ditti Dokter

WhenLoveAndCakeCollide · 25/04/2017 19:47

I know of a gynecologist called Dr. Bush. Always makes me giggle in a childish way.

My cousin has a friend called Lee King.

I know someone with the surname Peaceman, which of course, inevitably gets pronounced by people as 'Peace man', while people throw a 'hippy sign'.

lavenirestanous · 25/04/2017 19:41

There was an American called Randy Pratt at university. Couldn't understand why people pissed themselves laughing when he introduced himself.

Tigersteeth · 25/04/2017 19:36

I went to school with a Rosie Ribbons, which I though was lovely, and through work I know an Orpheus Waugh!

crumpet · 25/04/2017 19:20

Rusty Trump

ClopySow · 25/04/2017 19:17

I went to school with a girl called Wendy Howes.

We had a teacher called Mrs Smurthwaite whose son was called kettle. Kettle smurthwaite. Poor bugger.

useryourillusion · 25/04/2017 19:13

Sostenueto · 25/04/2017 19:06

One of my grandchildren called Fitzwilliam Darcy and then his surname. (From pride and prejudice).

nicetoseeyoutoseeyounice · 25/04/2017 19:03

I worked for a bank back when I was 18 and always came across funny names. We had B J King, mr sheepwash, mr tugwell, mr shitagher, mrs hardick..gosh there were loads. If I remember any more I will add them to the list. We are talking 10 years ago now though. We made kind of a game of it at the time to find the funniest customer names.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 25/04/2017 18:58

Kylie Wylie (her married name)

purplecabbage · 25/04/2017 18:58

UterusUterusGhali · 25/04/2017 18:57
