as in a high pain threshold : I can bear pain well.
According to Sky News this is what Cheryl Tweedy and Liam Payne have called their new baby.

Similarly to Workplace I used to work in a hospital where the operating lists were identified by the surgeon's surname and the first 5 letters of their first name. All fine except for Mr William Seymour.........

My DH's american colleague was Sherwood Dodge. When we were introduced I couldn't help but exclaim, "Awesome name!". His wife then told me he was from a line of 5 of them but they broke the tradition with their son, which I thought was a shame.

That sounds like a cute wee staircase. I can see it'd make you smile every time you passed the name boards... On subject of names & Our Mutual Alma Mater, I attended a memorial service for an academic in my final year. At the university, Alison Duke was known as The Iron Duke, in Girlguiding she was Chick. Not sure she was any the less formidable in guiding, mind you, what with the whole "negotiating hostage release with various parties in the Greek Civil War" Thing (& all the rest of the relief work she did after WW2) Hmm

I worked with a Sean Haggers, nothing special there , but all company emails were of the 'first initial last name format. They did not make an exception in this case.

TBF that could be a variant spelling of Yannick which is an actual name.

Paperdove87 · 30/04/2017 10:37

My favourite student name so far is Ianique, pronounced like Unique.
I can hear his parents' thought process...
'We want something unique. Ooh I like that! But how can we make it different and special?'
