I knew a Rock Rockerfeller. Brilliant name!

mydogmymate · 23/05/2017 11:21

I was at uni with a girl called Silka Pearle. The family was German.
One of my closest friends is called Victoria Cross, I don't really notice the irony to be honest.

ladyratterley · 23/05/2017 11:15

Oooh, ooh I've thought of one! A friend of mine had an American colleague and she was called Kestrel Lemen.

harderandharder2breathe · 23/05/2017 11:02

I worked with a James Dean
I knew of an Autumn Summers

And not real but someone I know was once misheard as being called Lion Roosevelt

HebeJeebie · 23/05/2017 07:14

I worked with someone called Victoria who married a Mr Cross!

MiniMaxi · 23/05/2017 03:40

Once worked on a project with a lady called Krystal Maze - she wasn't from the uk so probably had no idea how awesome her name was

Dinocat · 23/05/2017 00:47

Friend of a friend at uni was named Velvyn O'Hara which I always thought sounded like a glamourous 1940s Hollywood star :D

In my family tree there was an Eli Mentel. Also a married couple Polly and Solly. And an Auntie Bluma (I think this is German/Yiddish for flower but does not sound good in English). And of course a Great Aunt Fanny.

The excellently named Barb Haddock is a highly regarded estate agent near me. She's a very glam, blonde lady who doesn't suit her name at all Grin

Heatherjayne1972 · 05/05/2017 05:47

I knew a charlotte Shirley shillingford once !

BlueChairs · 04/05/2017 23:21

I also had a one night stand aged 18 with a man called Spyro Martyr ( yes I checked his ID )

BlueChairs · 04/05/2017 23:18

My great uncle -
Matthew Nathaniel Augustus sivus Arcturus Drake
Drake being the surname . My whole family knows his name x

eee- have just remembered one from my past; a farmer called Bratton Macgilliecuddie. I fancied him more than a little bit but he didn't like the cut of my jib allegedly

GiGiraffe · 03/05/2017 15:27

I have another one! I just bought something from eBay and had a problem with it. I was contacted by Tini Kroger to resolve the issue

Hygellig · 03/05/2017 09:45

Seamus McSporran has a great name too!
I do what parents were thinking when saddling their children with some of these names.

Horsemad · 03/05/2017 09:42

I also know somebody called Carl Coolbear!

Horsemad · 03/05/2017 09:39

Brodie McGregor from Anstruther!

I love this name Smile

There is also a (rather good looking) police officer on Twitter called Harry Tangye - another great name!

Igneococcus · 03/05/2017 09:12

There is a biochemist whose name I see on publications frequently and her first name is Purificacion, which is an awesome name for a biochemist who do protein purification an awful lot.

Teardropexplodes · 03/05/2017 07:57

I used to work with a guy called Jonny Eighteen. I always thought it was a nickname but it's his real name.

tanfield90 · 02/05/2017 21:28

I used to know a Helen Christmas. I believe there is a low-key TV presenter in the UK called Emma Christmas.

I've heard of African folk with names like Blessing and Patience. I think names such as these are Nigerian.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 02/05/2017 17:17

I'm not sure if he has been mentioned yet, but I think the journalist Damian Grammaticus has a wonderful name.
