There's a Louis Theroux episode where he's interviewing a woman who works in a dog shelter in LA. Her name was Shitana Bake. I shit you not.

Have come across some brilliant names through work, especially rhyming ones. Dorris Morris, Jean Kneen, John Conn and my absolute favourite, Betty Petty.

Also once spoke to a lady who's husband was called Raymond Batman (she insisted it was pronounced like Chapman, no emphasis on the 2nd syllable) to which I answered,
"Ok thanks Mrs BatMAN!" and quickly hung up.

I know a lovely Eastern European lady whose name translates as Blueberry, so that's what she asks people to call her in the UK.

It suits her, she's very sweet-natured.

Giggling at Humphrey Pomfrey GrinGrinGrin

DM, in a post-delivery flap after the birth of DB, asked DF what to call the baby. They'd already decided; DF thought she was joking, and made up a string of slightly ridiculous middle names. Dear reader, DB's name is Bob Percy McTavish Tavish (changed those slightly as his name is defo a one-off and completely outing). But wait... DB himself has decided that this is a good idea, and his two boys are ALSO McTavish Tavish...

Oh, I love threads like these!

My favourite, most awsome name is the journalist Damian Grammaticus.

I used to work in the records department of a national utility company and kept a spreadsheet of all the weird and wonderful names I came across. It sadly got lost over time but the ones I still remember are the Trumpton-like Mr. Onions of Windy Hill Farm, and Mr. Noah Flood, whose house was called The Ark. A lady called Tamara Knight, and anothe called Mary I Trust, which I always felt was lacking a comma and question mark. And lots of people in one part of the country with the surname Chicken.

I've also worked with someone with the surname Uren, and an Eileen Forward - amazingly there is more than one of them in the Scottish records!

Ginlinessisnexttogodliness · 24/05/2017 12:51

I went to university with a girl called Fleur Greentree

IHaveACrapCat · 23/05/2017 21:28

My great grandparents were Maggie-May and John-Jo. I love that they were both hyphenated and alliterative.

I know of a Mrs.A.Hoare

Once came across someone called Strawberry whivh i was a bit Hmm about at first but quickly realised I loved it.

I work with someone in the same field who has the same first and surname as me. Our emails are all "hi IHaveACrapCat, it's IHaveACrapCat here" we've been working together for years (different office Thankfully) and it still tickles me

TheForgetfulCat · 23/05/2017 15:13

We have the deeds to our Edwardian house. In the early twentieth century it was owned by someone by the name of Reckless Augustus Rogers.

Reckless Rogers is a great name in itself but Augustus in the middle finishes it off!
