We have no Dutch heritage, so we aren't going for Schuyler. However, we are unsure if we should go for Skyla/Skylar/Skyler? For our baby girl. She is definitely this name (has been since we knew she was a girl) we are registering her on Tuesday, so need to know Smile

For a girl, I would probably go for Skyla. Skylar/Skyler seems more like a boys name to me.
It's a lovely name spelt whichever way though.

I prefer it with the "a" because I think it looks more like a female name. Not sure whether I prefer it with the "r" on the end or not. My first thought was Skyla but then as I looked at it more I wasn't sure if it looked unfinished. So perhaps Skylar is best. Congratulations!

My niece is Skyla.
I have seen it spelt Skyler as well.

I love Schuyler but your DC may have an easier time of it with Skyler.

ImSoUnoriginal · 22/04/2017 21:01

I'd go Skylar too. I'm not so fond of the er ending.

Thank you Smile just looked and Skyla is the most used spelling! I wasn't expecting that.

Skyler definitely.

And congratulations Flowers

I'd say Skylar. But I've never met one! That's my favourite spelling out of your list though.

I think skyler looks best written down!
