We have both Grin

The single syllable version is their full name (no Thomas or Samuel) and they are called Tom and Sam or their rather ridiculous and very long nicknames GrinHmm

I also think Sam's are generally lovely, but can be a bit wet. The name is a little feminine imo, but a good name all the same.

MrsM, every Tom I've met has been lovely too! I always think Sam's, Tom's and Matt's are great guys in general!

Tom. Sam sounds a bit feeble to me and I don't like how the 'a' sounds in it!

I feel the opposite, Scarlett! I find Tom a strong name and Sam a bit wishy washy. It that could be related to the (quite a lot of) Sam and Tom's I know.

They are both great names but for my personal preference Sam.

It just seems like a stronger name (IMO)
