Hi,

Need some advice, we both like the name Jovie but others have said it sounds like J0bby, especially in Glaswegian accent! Don't know what to do as we both love the name and have few other ideas but don't want to risk it if people will associate it with that word.

OP posts:

Elf, don't do it.

MyLittleBoyBlue · 19/04/2017 20:37

you're living on a prayer op.

My friend has hamsters called Bonnie and Jovie... why not Jodie or Josie?

Mrskeats · 19/04/2017 20:33

Please don't

SuperBeagle · 19/04/2017 20:32

Jon Bon Jovi here also.

HomityBabbityPie · 19/04/2017 20:30

Bon jovi.

Why. Just why.

samatamfabahaba · 19/04/2017 20:29

I love it but my favourite film is Elf so I'm biased.

AuntieStella · 19/04/2017 20:24

It's OK as a nn for Jovan but a bit flimsy as a standalone IYSWIM.

And Jon Bon

Or perhaps you are a massive fan, and that's why you chose it?

MycatsaPirate · 19/04/2017 20:24

Jovi or Jovie?

Either way it's just not doing it for me.

And are we talking for a boy or girl? You'll have people saying 'Jodie?' and you'll have to spell it endlessly.

Figgygal · 19/04/2017 20:23

Never heard it before so my first reaction is that it sounds made up/try too hard

CuppaTeaTeddy · 19/04/2017 20:23

John Bon ?

LouKout · 19/04/2017 20:22

Sounds too try hard IMO

Gallavich · 19/04/2017 20:22

Where does it come from? It's not great. I've heard jovan as a name, better than jovie I think

SaltySalt · 19/04/2017 20:21
