My list

I need a little help narrowing down names. My current list is Matilda, Tabitha or Ada. I have a small problem in that oh doesn't like any of them so suggestions of similar names are also welcome!

Mothervulva · 25/04/2017 21:53

Beatrice with Faye, definitely.

lellyli · 25/04/2017 21:45

haha yes stitchedglitched that's good thinking. i do like it, maybe it's a grower. i know matilda doesn't really go with faye but my tastes have changed a bit in the last few years. iris makes me think of eyes though i do like it. it's so much harder naming a girl the second time around!

stitchglitched · 25/04/2017 21:22

Evelyn? A bit like Ava for you, and the yn ending like Branwyn for DH!

am most drawn to matilda so will go with that if i can get oh on board

OP posts:
lellyli · 25/04/2017 21:00

no i know fay and bea don't rhyme lol i mean it's like child A and child B aka Faye and Bea. seriously though i'd have never noticed if oh hadn't pointed it out it's not a deal breaker. still considering beatrice as i love the name

OP posts:
TheDowagerCuntess · 24/04/2017 21:20

Rhyming would be Faye and, um, Bay. Not Faye and Bea (Bee).

lellyli · 24/04/2017 21:10

and yes maybe 2 f's are ok but no more after that haha (not even considering 3 children anyways!! ':) )

will check out that website, thank you

OP posts:
lellyli · 24/04/2017 21:09

faye and b is like A and B .. no? tbh i wouldn't have noticed that until oh pointed it out

Really good website for checking popularity of names. Matilda is indeed a popular at the moment! names.darkgreener.com

exercisejunkie · 19/04/2017 06:51

I know a Jemima whose nn is mimi, really sweet!

SpikeGilesSandwich · 19/04/2017 06:01

I agree with you about Jemima OP, I really loved that but was put off by Jem, mainly because the biggest bitch I know is called Jemma. Hmm
Florence and Faye are nice together, I don't think just the two F's is an issue. Unless you go on to have 6 more called Frances, Fabian, Franklin, Francesca, Filbert and Fanny, then it's weird Grin

RuthB4 · 19/04/2017 04:52

Faye and Bea don't rhyme do they? Not for me! I think they sound nice together.

Tabitha is lovely! Florence is too! And i dont think two Fs is an issue!

What about Bronwyn instead of Branwyn?

What about. ...

arabella is nice but i prefer easier sounding names if that makes sense? also reminds me a bit of spiders though no idea why

OP posts:
lellyli · 17/04/2017 10:22

Thank you all. There are some that i really like- jemima is a contender (though not sure about the nn jem), i love beatrice but we already have a faye and oh pointed out that it would rhyme (faye and bea, kind of cute though??). i like arwen but it sounds best with a welsh accent, not in my southern accent. LOVE florence but again might be weird if we have 2 f names (or not...is it weird?!). My favourite is definitely tabitha though and it's the one oh dislikes the most :(

Thatextrainch · 17/04/2017 08:37

Matilda is much more popular than Arabella.

I know a lovely Ada so I'm influenced by that.

Jemima
Philippa
Elizabeth (you could have Betty/Betsy)
