Short boy and girl names for #3

Ginlinessisnexttogodliness · 12/04/2017 19:06

My brain is hurting.
It's a way off but as baby names seem to be the only things about pregnancy I ever enjoy thought I'd start now.

We are expecting baby number three end of October / beginning of Nov

We have a son called Kit and a daughter called Wren. As we are not finding out, we need to cater for both eventualities.
Criteria are short and something a little unusual / quirky but also sweet.
Please bombard me. I'm driving myself and OH nuts with this already. He's told me to bother someone else...sorry

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Ginlinessisnexttogodliness · 14/04/2017 22:23

Oh you lot are a marvellous bunch, some more names on here I love.

Ziva / Zia is just gorgeous, and this baby definitely will be our last so quite apt for a girl.

Lark has always been a personal favourite but I think with Wren it's perhaps verging on RSPB?

Frey is very interesting and love the provenance of the name.

I've had thoughts on Bruce or Lenny. Are you all just being polite?!!

Peg!eg. Love, love, love Frey.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 14/04/2017 22:10

Love Annie. Know one Annie and one Annabel who prefers Annie, both of whom are adorable. Not too keen on Kier as it's the name of the local council's maintenance firm.

Sorry, not sure about Corin either. Both DC have a Corey in their class. Neither of which I'd be happy if they invited for tea IYGWIM and it's sounds too similar to me.

PegLegAntoine · 14/04/2017 19:52

Frey (Norse god, Freya's brother) is a current favourite boy's name for me

Also love Zoe but a friend has just had one so would feel a bit cheeky....

Still working on the shortlist.

Like Bram a lot and love Nola but our dog is called Lola and I can see the mix ups already🙈

OH has agreed to put Inez in our top few which I'm gleeful about as I love love love it. Middle name would be Joy does it sound as lush I think it does.

OH now out of the blue on set his heart on Bruce for a boy. Is it too off brief and is it horrific? I like Lenny. Am I mad?
Please be honest?

Corin and Keir been rejected outright as I knew they would.

OP posts:
dotdotdotmustdash · 13/04/2017 22:21

Keir was my no1 boy's name but DH wouldn't agree.

Keir or Mia for me.

SirNiallDementia · 13/04/2017 22:11

If not Corin, how about Torin or Soren instead?

Love Inez for a girl and it sounds great with your other children's names!

Jooni · 13/04/2017 12:54

Inez/Ines is beautiful! Another one of my favourites Smile

I like Corin of your boy ideas but it does sound a bit similar to Wren, maybe? How about Tor?

BlueChampagne · 13/04/2017 12:48

Zoe
Blaise
Thea

Cade
Max
Glenn

MrsLettuce · 13/04/2017 12:38

Inez is just perfect! Annie is a bit cutesy compared to Kit and Wren.

Corin sounds reasonably similar to Wren to my ear, but it could just me. Kit and Kier is maybe a bit of a tongue twister too.

How about Ezra for a boy?

Ginlinessisnexttogodliness · 13/04/2017 11:01

Thank You so much everyone. 😊

Some really lovely names and a few I've not considered.
I'm going to compile a long shortlist. JanuaryJuniper I'll post it later, it will be my first shortlist as don't have one yet. I'm really struggling to find a name for a boy or girl I just fall in love with. With our other two those names were the One from the start and no competition. Not so lucky this time. 🙈

What do people think of Annie or Inez for a girl?
And how about Corin or Keir for a boy?

Do they go with the other little people's names?
