Short boy and girl names for #3

Ginlinessisnexttogodliness · 12/04/2017 19:06

My brain is hurting.
It's a way off but as baby names seem to be the only things about pregnancy I ever enjoy thought I'd start now.

We are expecting baby number three end of October / beginning of Nov

We have a son called Kit and a daughter called Wren. As we are not finding out, we need to cater for both eventualities.
Criteria are short and something a little unusual / quirky but also sweet.
Please bombard me. I'm driving myself and OH nuts with this already. He's told me to bother someone else...sorry

Ivo for a boy

Nora for a girl

Inez Joy is lovely and, from your list, I think Fran goes best with your other DC names.

TopsOff · 22/05/2017 12:42

Nina is gorgeous: easy to pronounce, multi cultural, timeless yet strong and punchy and sassy. So that's my choice for a girl.

I would spell Laurie as Laurie and I like it. But your boys' names don't seem as inspired as your girls' names.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 22/05/2017 09:18

Joni
Ember

Eorl
Vance

Nina and Will for me.

num1mumziezxoxo · 19/05/2017 11:23

I really want a unique name for a girl. Does anyone have any good ideas?

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 19/05/2017 09:37
  • Sorry, auto correct, Inez.
Sugarpiehoneyeye · 19/05/2017 09:36

❤️ Ines.
Bruce is cool !
Sorry, I don't like Lawrie.
Will is great too.

Ginlinessisnexttogodliness · 19/05/2017 09:05

Me again, sorry 🙈

Have kind of narrowed it down to the following names for a girl

Inez
Ava
Alice
Nina

But boys we are still really struggling.

My current favourite is Lawrie which would be his full name and not Lawrence.
OH still obsessed with Bruce but I have said no. Both like Will.
So we are back to square one

So
Lawrie
Will
Fran

That's it. Please throw some more names at me

Ps not so keen on Lenny or Bruce. Neither seem to be riding a 'come back' wave and probably for good reason.
I'm fond of a childhood family friend called Bruce, so I do have nice associations with the name. But we did rather maturely all call him 'Bru the poo'.. Grin

LittleMouseontheDairy · 16/04/2017 10:55

Inez Joy is FAB!

Love Rory for a boy. And Frey is great. Asa? Pronounced Ace.

Joelle is a girl's name I came across recently which I think is pretty cool.

Just a list of 'cool' boys names including

Phelan
Caspar
Moss
Bay
Calix
Ward
Ivo

These guys don't wear football tops at the bar. They're far too cool.
Love Mum Wink

Ginlinessisnexttogodliness · 14/04/2017 22:43

MrsLettuce you've made a very valid point there!
I'm retreating from those two names. I just said them out loud with my other two and they sound clunky and a bit chauvinistic next to my little chicks so I'm binning them. Fickle hormonal cow that I am!

I do love Inez Joy, it is as you delightful isn't it? 😊

OP posts:
MrsLettuce · 14/04/2017 22:41

Gosh. Also, Jenny Wren...

MrsLettuce · 14/04/2017 22:38

Inez Joy is a delight of a name!

But, Lenny (Len) is an awful lot like Wren. Isn't it?

Zeb?

Ginlinessisnexttogodliness · 14/04/2017 22:28

No need to be sorry. I really appreciate honest feedback. My mother more or less said the same thing. Are you her? 😂

I've gone off Lenny and never liked Bruce.

dotdotdotmustdash · 14/04/2017 22:27

I don't like either Bruce or Lenny, sorry. Neither feel like names for a 21st century child. Bruce and Lenny wear football tops over their beer-bellies and hold up the bar most nights.
