Nerissa or Cassia

Thoughts on these? Early options at the moment as I don't know whether this is a boy or girl yet. I think I love them both.

Cassia nn Cassie if it needs one.
Nerissa nn Nessa or Neris or Issa.

I think Nerissa is a lovely name (helps that the only one I know in RL is a lovely person)

I'm less keen on Cassia, becasue I dislike names where there is more than one pronunciation (I'd say it with 3 syllables cass-ee-a, but others would say it with two 'cash-er'). I know I wouldn't have the patience to be correcting people politely, but you might well be nicer than me!

Aha just saw your update - congrats! I was thinking as I typed about what sort of middle name you'd put with Cassia - Erin goes really nicely.

The HP connection probably comes from Malfoys mum - she was Narcissa I think.

Anyway, I don't like Nerissa, but I like Neasa or Nessa. Cassia is a lot nicer imo.

I knew an Nerys at school and she was adorable. I think that would be the “official” spelling of Neris.

I would pronounce Cassia CAS ee a.
I actually quite like Cassian for a boy too.
