These will be the BC names. So please don't suggest Jacob, Edward, Edwin, Edgar, Theodore, etc. etc. Smile

I don't much like either sorry but know someone who has both.
With Ted it's a bit old manish or makes me think of Big Ted and Little Ted and with Jake I think of the old song '...Jake the pake with the extra leg....'

SumAndSubstance · 02/04/2017 15:56

Ted is acceptable as a short form of something, but on its own it's a bit silly. Therefore, Jake.

marmitecheesetoast · 29/03/2017 12:40

Jake

buttercup54321 · 28/03/2017 22:25

Jake'
Though if you had Ted you could have Bear for his middle name LOL

Lemondrop09 · 27/03/2017 22:55

Jake.

Ted/Teddy is becoming veeeeery popular.

heateallthebuns · 27/03/2017 22:47

Er Ted I guess. Sorry I know you said don't say it, but I'd prefer the full versions shortened.

DramaAlpaca · 27/03/2017 22:19

Jake. But I have a delightful one myself

Marcipex · 27/03/2017 19:15

Ted.

MadisonAvenue · 27/03/2017 17:41

Jake. Simply because my 20 year old son is friends with a really lovely chap called Jake.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 27/03/2017 17:39

Agree with SomethingAboutNothing, Jed is great !
Would choose Ted, over Jake though.

MiniMaxi · 27/03/2017 17:36

Jake for me

reafloaf · 27/03/2017 17:08

Pemba - guess what little boys grow up to be? Confused

I prefer Ted, OP.

Shopkinsdoll · 27/03/2017 16:52

Jake all the way! Ted sounds cute when a baby but when older sounds silly. It just reminds me of big ted from playschool tv programme. Many years ago lol

Greenfingeredfun · 27/03/2017 16:49

Jakes a lovely name.. Ted, not so much!

Pemba · 27/03/2017 16:45

Jake is so much nicer. Ted is an old man's name.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 27/03/2017 16:41

Only Ted as a nn, so Jake.

SomethingAboutNothing · 27/03/2017 16:39

How about you combine them and go with Jed? Wink

Seriously though, both are lovely, but I like Ted best.

BounceBounceSplishSplash · 27/03/2017 16:35

I like Ted as a nn only so it would have to be Jake (which I don't really like)

Chocolatecake12 · 27/03/2017 16:34

Both are really lovely!

WowserBowser · 27/03/2017 16:32

I find Ted a bit faddy because of the increase in popularity of Teddy.

Therefore i will say Jake
