Love it, but Polanski?

I like it. I didn't think of Polanski

SumAndSubstance · 02/04/2017 15:54

I really like Roman, but my husband vetoed it on Abramovich grounds. Personally, I thought of Polanski first, but I think it's common enough (particularly in other countries) not to be associated with any one person.

Purpledaffodils · 30/03/2017 10:42

I quite like it. Solid name but different to the run of mill names you hear all the time.

First thing that pops into my head is Abramovich. Didn't make the connection with Polanski and most of the younger generation won't either.

SuperBeagle · 28/03/2017 06:36

Love it.

Couldn't care less about the Polanski connection. It's not like naming your child Adolf.

mummytobemaybe · 28/03/2017 00:59

I prefer Ronan

MrsJayy · 27/03/2017 23:13

Martin Kemps son is Roman think he is a tv presenter it is nice i wouldn't associate with polanski

elQuintoConyo · 27/03/2017 23:11

Love it.

I have "we are the Romans! We hate the Christians!" in Billy Connelly's voice going round my head - not in itself a bad thing Grin

Ignore the Polanskis. We have a Pistorius and no one has ever commented on it.

DPotter · 27/03/2017 23:07

Not keen - although I thought of Normans and Plantagenets.....

MercyMyJewels · 27/03/2017 23:05

Polanski def. So not good, sorry

Ontopofthesunset · 27/03/2017 23:00

I think of Abramovich before Polanski. I know a couple who are not Eastern European and also a couple who are.

mycavitiesareempty · 27/03/2017 22:57

See, my first thought was holiday. Showing my age ....

heateallthebuns · 27/03/2017 22:55

Don't like it. Sounds like trying too hard to be cool.

Kazzawazza69 · 27/03/2017 21:50

I really like it. I've heard of Roman Polanski but can't for the life of me think who he is so he didn't immediately come to mind.

QueenCassiopeia · 27/03/2017 21:46

This was on our boys list Smile love it op

CaoNiMartacus · 27/03/2017 21:05

I don't love it. Reminds me of gladiatorial combat.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 27/03/2017 17:28

It's not bad.

PunjanaTea · 27/03/2017 17:10

Not keen on it tbh. I've met a couple of small children whose parents are chelsea fans.

BasicBetty · 27/03/2017 16:58

Great name. No Polanski association here!

EdmundCleverClogs · 27/03/2017 15:55

Also love it, it's a big contender for our next child! Love 'R' names in general, Rowan, Robert, Ronan...

Jooni · 27/03/2017 15:06

Love it

GuinessPunch · 27/03/2017 13:59

I wanted it. Dp said no which I'm still annoyed about as Roman suits him more than the name we have him.

EssentialHummus · 27/03/2017 13:58

I'm keen. Round my way it's a traditional Russian name.

Sophronia · 27/03/2017 13:56

Not keen

Gummibears · 27/03/2017 13:02

I like it, or how about
Rowan
Quentin
Reuben
Tristan

coffeetasteslikeshit · 27/03/2017 12:34

I immediately thought of Polanski too.
