Favourite Welsh name?

This isn't for a baby, but for a curiosity.

For me:

Boy - Emrys

Girl - Bronwyn

Pencilvester that's why I'd never choose a Welsh name, I'm useless with pronouncing and spelling them. Now I know, I actually prefer Bronwen to Bronwyn

We have a Taliesin and live in England. It's been fine. He's usually Tal or Tali day to day though.

Bronwen for a girl and Wyn for a boy.

I know it's not Welsh, but I have met a lot of Welsh Sharons and love the name.

I know several women names Llinos and they complain that English people pronounce it Clean-Oss

It was in West Wales sound. We aren't Welsh though and managed it ok.

Rockaby Was the little Taliesin in Wales? I was keen on it for DS but we're in England and I just thought pronunciation issues would annoy me too much! (DD is Arianwen, and it's often met with extreme panic, despite being fairly straightforward (I think!) and us being in an area with lots of non-English names).

I've always loved Llinos for a girl but would worry about pronunciation...even fellow Welshies sometimes mispronounce and to anyone not Welsh it invariably turns out 'Lin-oss'.

I'm loving this thread! I always wanted to give my children Welsh names, but in reality, DP is English, we live in England now, and we haven't had children!

Actually that Har explanation doesn't work too well. It kind of has a Arrrr inflection like a Pirate would do (but not too much). I'm not explaining it very well!

More like the Ha sound if you were saying Ha ha ha!
