For me it's so dated and just chavy. Daz/Dazza are awful nn. Really don't like it at all.

What about Aron, Carson, Dylan or Warren? Kinda similar to Darren but not quite the same?

Darren is my eldest son's middle name and I dunno why no one here likes it either, but then I think a lot of the popular names on this site are shite anyway so each to their own. Most names will date eventually

To clarify for any Daniel parents I meant it's not a million miles away in terms of sound but a lot nicer name!

The thing is o e day Darren will be popular and cool again.
I remember laughing when my ex colleague mentioned her husband Archie ( Arthur).
I also remember cringing when a college called her dd Emily. Both were regarded as ' horrible' names at the time.

One day we will be awash with Clair's Debbie's, Darren's et al.

My Dp is a Darren. Before meeting him my Dad was expecting him to be a dodgy bugger, solely on his name! And his short name is usually 'Dal' .

Darragh is a reasonably well used name in Ireland though. I'm not sure it holds quite the same cachet as Darren in the UK.

Who am I kidding? I too seriously dislike Darren. (Raised in Essex in the 1980s).

My dad is called Darren and even I think its a shit name. I also had a friend whose hamster was called Darren.

Ah god, he will get called Daz!

OP obviously you can post as many threads as you like, but you have started a lot of threads today about random names and according to this one you aren't even pregnant.

Of course you don't have to be pregnant to post on here (I'm certainly not, I just like names) but it seems a bit odd, really.
