Daisy is classy and timeless. Makes me think of the film curious case of Benjamin button.
Fran is not nice.

greeeen · 18/03/2017 10:35

I know a Francesca always called Chess/Chessie. Love Daisy.

TalkingofMichaelAngel0 · 18/03/2017 09:50

I love francesca and frankie is a cool teenage girls nick name. Chesca is a cute child's nick name.

Str4ngedaysindeed · 18/03/2017 09:50

I know an adult Francesca who is known as Chekki.

CocoLoco87 · 18/03/2017 09:49

I know 2 Francescas
One is Fran and the other is Checky. Both girls are lovely so it gives me happy memories IYSWIM I think it's a great name.

I like Daisy too but would she get called Daze?

HollyBollyBooBoo · 18/03/2017 05:47

I think every name gets shortened!

Francesca goes to Chesca or Ches amongst my friends.

Murine · 18/03/2017 05:20

I prefer Daisy

AmbridgeGirl · 18/03/2017 04:33

Another Francesca here. I love my name but also love Chez which I go by most of the time with family and friends. People will shorten it so if you aren't keen on that then perhaps it's not name for you. The number of times I introduce myself as Francesca and then people call me Fran Envy I always correct them but it starts to get a bit old and sometimes I know people think I'm being precious, but I'm past caring now.

INeedNewShoes · 18/03/2017 02:42

I know a Francesca who shortened to Decca which I think is really cool!

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 18/03/2017 02:39

Daisy

The Francesca's I know are Fran and Frannie

KoalaDownUnder · 18/03/2017 02:35

Daisy.

All the Francesca shortenings are awful.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 17/03/2017 21:44

Daisy.

SummerIsNear · 17/03/2017 21:22

My name is Francesca and I love it. Sadly though I very rarely actually hear it as most of the time I'm called either Fran or Franky, and even sometimes Chez. My name is used so little that some people don't even realise my full name is Francesca, I've worked with a woman for a year now and she only realised last week that my full name ISN'T Frances Hmm

babymouse · 17/03/2017 20:58

I have a name that is very frequently shortened, but I've never gone by the shorter version ever. My mum was very adamant about it not being shortened with everyone and it never was. Just put your foot down with people who want to shorten it.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 17/03/2017 20:53

If you hate the shortenings. Don't use Francesca. As she might decide she wants to be known as Frankie, Fran Cesca Cesi. You won't be able to stop her.

Sophronia · 17/03/2017 20:37

Francesca. The one I know is Frankie.

Frouby · 17/03/2017 20:18

I have a francesca. She is usually Frankie. But Chesca seems to be creeping in amongst her school friends now she is older (12).

I don't personally like Daisy. But I do like Poppy and Iris.

SuperBeagle · 17/03/2017 20:15

The two Francescas I know are both "Fran".

I like Frankie, but that doesn't seem to be the automatic shortening. But my grandmother is a Francine and she's always been Frankie.

I much prefer Daisy.

BarInSpace · 17/03/2017 20:13

Daisy is a lovely name. I don't think I've ever met a Daisy.

Francesca is OK but I don't like Fran or Ceska. Chess or Frankie would be OK but I still prefer Daisy.

I really like Frances though. Also Jessica, which is a bit like Ceska in sound but nicer IMO.

1horatio · 17/03/2017 20:07

I like Francesca.

The only Francesca I know in the UK is called Cesca... Not sure if you'd be ok with that shortening...?

Daisy is lovey. But it could still be shortened. Or she could have a nickname just for the sake of having one...

DeeDee, Dais, Day, Sissi, Cee-Cee, Zee or maybe even Dupsie? Or something not even related to the name?

LorLorr2 · 17/03/2017 20:05

When she gets older I do think her friends would shorten it. But I think Frankie is a really cute nickname, reminds me of Frankie from the Saturdays lol. Or Cesca is nice.
Daisy is soo pretty too, whichever one you choose would be great.

mum2be2boys · 17/03/2017 19:56

I love Francesca! It was top of my list for a girl for both pregnancies, but both turned out to be blue.

If you don't shorten it, I don't think anyone else will either. My husband is called Jonathan, he is now late 30s and it has never been shortened. If anyone tried, they were politely corrected and they didn't try again!

Twinkletwinkle4 · 17/03/2017 18:55

Daisy! It's femenine and elegant

BakerBear · 17/03/2017 18:33

I love Rosanna and it was a definate if ds was a girl. I do think adding an E makes it look like there should be a space between the two names.

I think Rosanna is the most common spelling of it

Kazzawazza69 · 17/03/2017 18:32

I know an adult Daisy. I think it's cool.
