Which do you prefer? Full name for Theo would be Theodore on bc etc. but would plan to call him Theo day-to-day.

Theo suits a child but I don't like it as an adults name.

Rockaby · 18/03/2017 10:37

I'd definitely describe Theodore as classic rather than trendy myself. Theo on its own on the BC might be a little more 'of the moment', but there are plenty of older Theodores too, usually shortened to Ted. They're both classic names to me, it's just James is very well used overall; adults, babies, teenagers. I can think of a few people called James in each age group.

MangoSplit · 18/03/2017 09:17

If I think about children only (ignoring adults), I know the same number called James and Theo!

I prefer James.

BounceBounceSplishSplash · 18/03/2017 09:14

Theodore is a name that is centuries old so I don't think it would age or be too trendy imo. I think it's a classic, just a more interesting classic than dull James Grin

Rockaby · 18/03/2017 07:59

Theo!

Gummibears · 18/03/2017 07:43

James is a little dull and Theo is too trendy, so personally I'd pick neither Smile

rainingkitsandpups · 17/03/2017 20:48

James.

Theo will date.

Alyx80 · 17/03/2017 20:47

Theo. James is boring

BounceBounceSplishSplash · 17/03/2017 20:42

Theo. James is a very dull name imo.

DaffodilTime · 17/03/2017 20:40

I like both which is rare for me as I usually don't contribute to baby names! I like James best though.

James.

1horatio · 17/03/2017 17:39

Most people preferring James won't actually have a DS by that name.

True. It isn't even on our boy's list.

But I just think Theo is very trendy and will therefore age...

TheOptimisticButtercunt · 17/03/2017 17:37

Theodore James!

Newbiecat · 17/03/2017 17:36

James- my sons middle name and I wish I saved it as a first name for my recently born 3rd son!

Theo is lovely. James is boring.

OneSecondAfter · 17/03/2017 17:12

See how overly popular James is?! That's why you should pick Theo Grin
