Feelings on now feminine names for boys?

Previous post... Selwyn didn't seem too popular.

Now I'm thinking about names that lean a bit more feminine these days:

Vivian

Hilary

Kelly

Thoughts? Also any other suggestions of feminine names for boys?

Mens and womens names have always crossed over. just go with how you think it will work. Kids (and their parents) might let one name go unremarked on in one school and torment in another. You just have to take a punt.

I love Kelly and Stacy for boys, and know one of each (two Kellys, come to think of it!).

I've never knowingly met a Francis, only Franks.

These are ally pretty good names to be honest! As a poster above said, it's not like you re calling him Shirley !

I've known male Kerry /Ceris , a Lyn ( Welsh chap) several leslies.

Dara, an Irish name, is used for both, although traditionally a male name. Most boys named this have the Darragh spelling, but Dara O' Briain is an example of it the way I'm suggesting.

Most of the adult Rowans I know are boys, but the little ones tend to be girls. Either way, wouldn't want to name a baby after that guy who would make smoothies naked at 3am when I lived in a uni dorm

Rowan is not a feminine name, it's a boy's name. It's Gaelic and means little red haired one.

I worked with a male Beverley, known as Bev - he must be 80 odd now. Really suited him but can't imagine it On a baby.

Doctor Hilary is still quite well known; as is 'The Young Ones' for Vivian, plus Viv Richards is wellknown (and I used to work to with a male Viv).

I think Kelly is becoming quite rare

Vivian is probably my favourite, and I grew up with it as a male names because of Viv Anderson.

Even I wouldn't go for Hilary, what with Hilary Clinton being such a huge name, but I think it sounds nice.
