International, slightly unusual names

They need to sound good in English and German. And shouldn't cause any major issues for Italian and French speaking people...

I prefer Alaric and Wilric to Elric.
I think Wilric/ Wilrick might actually be a Frisian name.

Also, I don't believe Oskar is overused. but the pronunciation is not as soft as Oscar would be in the UK.... it sounds pretty harsh in the germanic countries...

Last punt with Finn? I think it might be popular in UK though.

In Germany most names with 'C' are pronounced with a 'k' sound so e.g Cillian would be Killian

Cillian is pronounced Killian, which is how it is spelt in Germany, where it is a more popular name than it is here.

Oskar is a nice name, but too popular.
Otto is unfortunately a name we can't use.

Noah is too biblical. Sorry, I'm awfully picky. But thank you:)

Ivo is nice but I honestly think it's too short.

Well, maybe somewhat creepy. Still, wouldn't put me off the name. A slightly eccentric (?) literary namesake might be something a child think is cool.. :)

But it doesn't seem like a horrible namesake... So, that's good :)!!

But the picture in the wiki article does remind me a bit of Prince Valiant. I used to love the one where one of his daughters wants to become an amazon :)

Michael Moorcock is a pretty respectable SF author Grin - the character is Elric of Melniboné. Probably pretty obscure if you're not a 40+ fantasy /SF fan though . . . !

What about Kester - fits your 'slightly unusual' criterion, and I think works in French / German / Spanish
