Help! Our current list is:
-Autumn (but will probably get rid of this as she wasn't born in Autumn)
-Gabriella (not sure on the NNs)
-Grace (not sure why I'm not 100% on this)
-Ivy (reminds me of IV?)
-Matilda (same as Gabriella)
-Olivia (so popular)
-Scarlet (not keen on the Scarlett spelling and I know people will always spell it like that, but then we have that with our son's name, so not the end of the world, but her surname will begin with an S, so I'm put off as I'm not keen on alliteration!)
-Violet (would actually probably go for this but our son is Elliot and they feel way too similar?)

I like the name Matilda with the nn Mattie. Usually a boys nn sure, but coming from Matilda I think it's cute.

tinypop4 · 14/03/2017 21:00

I like Ivy. Really pretty name but still 'strong'

Breadwidow · 14/03/2017 18:10

I think the name is not on the list as you don't seem convinced by any of them. We had similar situation DS (pre birth), long list of names but we couldn't decide between any as none were right, and then DH mentioned something else and I knew immediately it was the name.

If you want some new ideas I'd recommend Welsh girls names. I'm no Welsh but I bloody love every single Welsh girls name - all nice, not odd but not common. DD is bethan but there are many others

BikeRunSki · 14/03/2017 18:03

Grace is hard to carry off if you are not graceful.

firawla · 14/03/2017 18:02

Violet - I think it's fine with Eliot!

Wayfarersonbaby · 14/03/2017 18:01

Matilda and Elliot are really nice together! I love Tilly as a nn.

I also think Gabriella will end up Ella.

LarrytheCucumber · 14/03/2017 18:00

I have a niece called Gabriella, known as Bella.

eurochick · 14/03/2017 17:59

Try your favourites for a day each and see what feels right. That's how we chose!

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 14/03/2017 17:58

I like Matilda.

Sophronia · 14/03/2017 17:37

Matilda

PutThatPomBearBack · 14/03/2017 17:29

I absolutely love Ivy and Autumn!

averythinline · 14/03/2017 17:24

Molly
Chloe
Clementine

I know a few girls with long names that dont use nicknames so if yo dont most people wont

saltyshoes · 14/03/2017 17:16

Of your list I like Grace and Olivia. How about Marielle or Mariella if you like Gabriella?

shaggedthruahedgebackwards · 14/03/2017 17:13

Gabriella would be my favourite but possibly not with Elliot

I think Grace or Ivy go best with Elliot

crapfatbanana · 14/03/2017 17:11

Grace or Ivy get my vote.

user1489505589 · 14/03/2017 17:09

I'm unsure on Iris and Martha Sad I do like Evie but would like to avoid same initials, thank you though!

I love Gabriella.

Ivy is really pretty as well.

Not a fan of the others, tbh.

If you like Violet... Do you like Viola?

Shadowboy · 14/03/2017 16:50

Love, love. Love Matilda.

Purplebluebird · 14/03/2017 16:49

(I love Autumn, but can see your point about having a March baby called Autumn)

Purplebluebird · 14/03/2017 16:48

Scarlet or Violet, both fine with Elliot. Grace is also nice, I have a cat called Gracie :)

NoncommittalToSparkleMotion · 14/03/2017 16:47

Congratulations!

I like Grace and Elliot together. And Grace doesn't really have any nn's.

Pancaker · 14/03/2017 16:45

Scarlet or Ivy

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 14/03/2017 16:39

I also love Gabriella as a full name, but am not keen on Gabby. It's a bit too close to "gobby" for me.

Matilda is nice - possibly as Tilly, Tilda or Matty.

Ivy - love it.

Scarlet - I've never been too keen on the "scar" sound in it. Much like the "sic" in Jessica.

Grace & Olivia would be no-no's for me.

Violet - love it, but I wouldn't use it with Elliot.

DesertSky · 14/03/2017 16:37

Matilda and I also prefer Iris to Ivy
