Gabriella definitely. I have one so may be biased...
We occasionally come across another but not often and she is the only one in her school.

RhubarbAndMustard · 13/03/2017 20:08

Gabriella. It's so beautiful.

BaffledMummy · 13/03/2017 20:09

Gabriella...love it...is on our shortlist

caffelatte100 · 13/03/2017 21:38

Mathilda with a h?

NotRumpole · 13/03/2017 22:01

Like both but prefer Gabrielle, slightly less popular I think

DarkestBeforeDawn · 13/03/2017 22:20

Matilda - no contest

crumble82 · 13/03/2017 22:23

I love Gabriella, DH vetoed it but I really wanted it for our DD (both of them!).

Sophronia · 13/03/2017 22:42

Matilda

Gabriella.

Matilda

RuthB4 · 14/03/2017 03:00

Gabriella for sure! Although Matilda is nice. She'd be one of many Matildas though, if that should bother you. Matilda is ranked number 27 and Gabriella 136th.

KoalaDownUnder · 14/03/2017 03:37

Gabriella.

I knew a Gabrielle when I was a kid and I was deadly jealous of her name for years.

Izzyathome · 14/03/2017 04:23

Much prefer Matilda. (Tilly, Millie, Mattie, Tilda). Gabriella feels just slightly dated to me, not keen on Gabby.

sosieso · 14/03/2017 07:23

I would go with Matilda. Gabriella is lovely, but I work in a school and we have several girls with this name and they all go by Gabby which I don't like as much. Some nasty names I've heard used for Gabby's are "gobby gabby" "flabby gabby". On the other hand there are no girls called Matilda (even though it seems to be way more popular) and there are less obvious nasty nickname opportunities.

SuperBeagle · 14/03/2017 08:41

Depends whether you prefer Gabby or Mattie/Tilly/Tilda.

I prefer the full name Matilda, but the nickname Gabby. I only like Mattie when it comes to Matilda's nicknames.

namechange20050 · 14/03/2017 08:43

I like Matilda. Though my view is coloured by the fact I went to school with a Gabriella and she was relentlessly teased as 'gobby gabby'.

Gummibears · 14/03/2017 08:44

Names don't need to be shortened! Both my name and my dd's name are 3 syllables long and are never shortened.

MollyHuaCha · 14/03/2017 08:50

Gabriella

Knittedfrog · 14/03/2017 09:00

Matilda

grufallosfriend · 14/03/2017 10:10

Gabrielle or Gabriella are lovely and more interesting than Matilda which has become a little overused imo.

BasicBetty · 14/03/2017 13:34

Gabriella for me.
