Probably. I do feel kind of bad for the boys that were called Ariel before that film was released. Especially if they still went to school.

But still, naming a girl Ariel just wouldn't feel right to me personally...

Clarissa is a beautiful name!

Here goes for your list Wink...

Carina - I like this, reminds me of cara, meaning 'dear' or beloved, maybe Cara would be better?
Susanna/h - better with the h
Arielle - hideous, reminds me of washing powder or a TV aerial
Ariella - see above
Millicent - can't understand the previous comments on this. I think this name is lovely! Maybe because the only Millicent I've ever known was wonderful!
Helena - no, makes me think of a volcano (Mt Helena)
Eliana - love it. Sounds like a fierce elf warrior
Amynta - no no no no, that's the sort of name a horsey head girl in a posh boarding school would have Wink
Serena - nooooo. Grunting tennis player
Louisa - very pretty, but only if you could avoid a shortening to Lou. Or use Luisa
Annabella - meh, boring - the equivalent of magnolia paint
Annabelle - see above
Erika - agree with others, prefer Erica, think the k is too harsh
Antonia - I like this, unusual but not too old fashioned

I think the Little Mermaid has made Ariel a girls name for most people, certainly in England/English speaking countries where the boys name Ariel was never common.

Arielle is just the feminine form of Ariel. ar-ee-EL

I'm not a fan of unisex names (or actually, I don't mind genuine unisex names. But I don't like using boy's names for girls, like Ariel, for example). Maybe that's weird, Idk.

I like Louisa, Helena, Susanna and Annabelle/bella. All good, classic names. All names people have heard of and can spell/pronounce, but not overused (except maybe Annabelle/bella).

Millicent, Serena, Erika and Antonia are fine. Classic names etc, but just not to my taste. Every Antonia I've ever met has been a complete pillock.

I don't like Carina, Arielle, Ariella Eliana or Amynta because they're too fussy, prissy and try-hard.

I'd go with Helena. I think it goes really nicely with Clarissa.

Millicent sounds too much like Militant.
The rest are all pretty.
I think Serena would work best with your DD1's name.

Sure, I've already mentioned her name on a previous thread I've made for the purpose of finding a name.

DD is Clarissa. But girl's names for DC2 are just makes me crazy and I feel like a cow! We have 3 perfect boy's names (middle names and everything. Well, perfect in my opinion, admittedly...).
Girls? I either suddenly like no name at all and throw out the whole list... Or I like all names, which is currently the case. And although we don't know... I'm super certain we'll have an other girl, for some weird reason.

It's starting to make me antsy.

Maybe I should put all the names in a hat and just pick a random one. Sheesh! Confused

Both my names are on the list and I love them! But I'm a rather older generation.

I don't like the Ariel variations, I'm afraid, sound made up and too twee and like a washing powder.

I do like the Annabel variations.

Erika is fine and quite unusual, though I prefer the English spelling with a c, unless you are Scandinavian. . Helena, I like, and prefer to Eliana, unless you are Greek, or further east, but have you a specific reason for Eliana? Sounds a bit pretentious. I love Antonia, but the people I know almost invariably get called Tony or Toni, not the same for some reason with Antoinette. Carena I dislike, feels made up though it's not, but someone trying to have a posher version of Karen. Susanna no h generally posher than with an h. Serena, ok, have you thought if Sabrina as well? Like Louisa. Millicent, not my fave but nice in Milly Molly Mandy, and better than Mildred.

None of them are awful which is more than can be said for some of the names you read on here. Louisa and Helena are fine. Any more names you like. Not keen on Millident.

The name of DD is already 3 syllables. And she has two middle names...

So, I guess the opportunity of chosing simply names was missed.

But then again, my name is really long as well. It's a bit of a family thing, I guess. In my and DH's family, weirdly enough.

I wish... No, it's really very long.

Which is why I chose a simple name for DD (actually she also has two simple middle names as well). I have a 5 syllable French surname.

Helena pronounced Hel-AY-na by DH and pronounced whatever by me... (he-le-nuh).

I don't think having many Millies around is bad, is it? DD's nickname is Chip/Chippy. So, if DC2 is lucky enough to get stuck with Millie I'd be honestly surprised.

And no, DD's name isn't Chippina or anything. And we don't even eat chips...

I dont really like any of them. Either too cutsey or conjouring up images of a 50 something on horseback (I live in a posh part of Berkshire).

Serena I would change to Seren. Louisa is ok but will inevitably be shorted to Lou which I hate. I like Susie rather than Susannah.

I wish... No, it's really very long. And the pronounciation is so counterintuitive. Seriously, the surname nearly made me reconsider marrying DH ;) (ok, I'm kidding. But the surname is pretty awful...)
