I am starting to really like this name, Tallulah. what do you think?

Other options are Carmen or Violet (too popular?). but Tallulah is my fave :)

I really like Tallulah. It's on my list (DH isn't keen).

Carmen is lovely. I don't like Violet, tbh.

MrsMeeseeks · 07/03/2017 10:36

A frivolous name - and not in a good way.

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 07/03/2017 06:30

Carmen is a cooler name imo, and Violet is pretty too. I think Tallulah is very particular style that you need a lot of balls to pull off, whereas Carmen sounds independent and fierce, and Violet sweet natured.

mathanxiety · 07/03/2017 06:23

I thought Tallulah was a hen in the Maisy books. Must take a closer look.

TisMeTheLadFromTheBar · 07/03/2017 01:32

Bugsy Malone not moby dick!

TisMeTheLadFromTheBar · 07/03/2017 01:29

Moby dick ruined Tallulah

twattymctwatterson · 07/03/2017 01:27

Really cute on a little girl, on an adult? Not so much

LolaTheDarkdestroyer · 07/03/2017 01:24

I have a tallulah lulu for short. It really suits her. Everyone loves her name.

EggsEleven · 05/03/2017 09:19

It's one of those names that I really like but wouldn't call my own child it for some reason. Love it for others though Smile

Violet is my favourite though - it seems v popular on MN but haven't met any young Violets in RL.

CalebWomble · 04/03/2017 15:31

I have a teenage Tallulah, often known as Lula. Names always become like the person, don't they? She's not at all frilly or fussy, so it doesn't feel like that sort of name at all to me.

MikeUniformMike · 04/03/2017 15:26

My favourite is Carmen. Violet is lovely but too popular and sounds like vile and looks like violent, Tallulah is a bit too frilly but is still lovely - makes me think of a pony. Carmen sounds cool and is more unusual.

OddShoe · 04/03/2017 15:21

It's my 6 year olds favourite name...not sure that is the best endorsement for it though.

I'm not a fan. It's very fussy sounding.

Rockaby · 04/03/2017 08:50

I don't like it. It sounds like a 'silly' word. Sorry, that sounds harsh, but I can't think how else to phrase it. I feel the same way about Loulou. It's purely the sound - no negative connotations, though the first one I heard of was in BM as others have said.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 04/03/2017 08:44

Love Lula !

JudgeJudySheidlin · 04/03/2017 00:54

My imaginary 2nd DD is a Talulah. Love that name so much!!

PollytheDolly · 04/03/2017 00:52

I like it. My DH calls my DD (his DSD) that...she's 20 and known her since 17 and it's nothing like her real name.

She rolls her eyes but loves it really.

Sophronia · 04/03/2017 00:44

I like it

Ohyesiam · 04/03/2017 00:14

There sure 2 Tallulah's in m by find very small class at primary school
I think we may have reached peak Tallulah.

witwootoodleoo · 04/03/2017 00:13

Bugsy Malone, strippers and a lifetime of having to spell your name out to people

littlepeas · 04/03/2017 00:07

Prefer Carmen or Violet, personally.

HotSince82 · 03/03/2017 23:54

Does the hula.
From Hawaii.

BackforGood · 03/03/2017 23:49

Really don't like it. Do feel the need to sing the Bugsy Malone song whenever I hear it. As other posters have said, it sounds far too 'frilly' and fussy to me.

Joeybee · 03/03/2017 23:27

It's a bit too out-there for me. But it's a nice name, if you're brave enough, then go for it.
I love Violet, but it's popularity has put me off a little.
