I love both... Currently completely torn between the two!

Astrid. I think the KHLAR sound in Clara is really harsh and hard to say.

I have an eight year old Clara, so I do like that name obviously. But it IS moving up the lists hugely, although strangely I have never met another one. I expect if I moved to England I would meet a few.

DS would've been Clara had he been a DD, although we then named DD something else anyway... Not too sure about Astrid; sounds quite futuristic, which isn't necessarily a bad thing I suppose.

I love Astrid, but husband vetoed it. Clara is very pretty too but I prefer Astrid.

I love Astrid. It's on my list, but I suspect DH will veto - he's not keen on anything out of the ordinary.

I can't see the appeal of Astrid. It's very harsh and unattractive sounding.

Clara. It's one of my favourite names for girls. But I think Clara Astrid is great - why not use both?
