Does strong name = a name that doesn't suit anyone under the age of 60? E.g. Bernard or Doris?

What a sneery way to phrase that Hmm.

No, I'm not keen on names like Bernard and Doris, but thanks for asking.

One of DD's teacher's told her that Miranda was a "hard" name. I interpreted that as "strong". If she'd been a boy, I would have called her Conrad.

Viggo- it means war & is an old Viking name. Wink

Thanks for these.

The surname ends with n so the first name probably won't as it might sound a bit odd.

Is Kevin strong? There are many weak sounding names that end in n, and Reuben is one of the weakest. It's certainly not just my opinion, as I've heard it said many times before.

lorelairoryemily · 26/02/2017 08:06

Gabriel is not a strong name!

Gummibears · 26/02/2017 07:54

What makes Reuben not strong sounding in your opinion?

I find it very strong sounding maybe because it ends in n. Weak sounding names to me are names like Alfie, Archie, Laurie.

Maybe a bit too strong though. Also don't call your child Hulk.
