My favourite from your list is Mara. Also like Sadie, India and Lorelai.

Elbi · 24/02/2017 01:21

Mara - Love this. Sounds like a smart cookie but warm too
India - not so keen... too faux boho
Meredith - pretty, and nice to have the Meri/Merry style nicknames
Daphne - sounds a bit wet and daffy
Juliet - Nice but that's all
Judith (Jude) - sounds like a 60 year old woman. Not sure I can imagine it on a young child

Sadie - likewise
Erica - Love this. It's on my list too
Monica - I just think of Friends...
Lorelai - I just think of Gilmore Girls!

Imaginingdragonsagain · 23/02/2017 21:09

I like Lara and Erin

NotYoda · 23/02/2017 19:41

Rather than Erica, what about Erin?

NotYoda · 23/02/2017 19:40

Mara - lIke it. I like Lara too, but Mara is more unusual
India - no
Meredith - really like it
Daphne - no
Juliet - lovely, but Julia is better
Judith (Jude) - quite nice
Sadie - no
Erica - nice
Monica - OK
Lorelai - no

TempsPerdu · 23/02/2017 19:38

Interesting list OP - my picks would be Daphne (would use this in a heartbeat!), Meredith or Juliet - all gorgeous names.

Mara - OK; could grow on me
India - agree with golden - it's a bit 'try-hard exotic'!
Meredith - lovely, a grown-up, serious name, and Merry makes a lovely nickname
Daphne - my favourite, love the nature/mythology connections (even though it's a sad story!). Has a fresh, jaunty, vintage feel.
Juliet - very elegant, and I much prefer this spelling to the frillier Juliette
Judith (Jude) - strong name, but a bit plain and clunky for me (and I like non-girly/frilly names!)
Sadie - a bit lightweight and insubstantial
Erica - not a fan - always thought this sounded like the parents really wanted an Eric! Sounds a bit harsh to my ears.
Monica - not keen, feel quite dated
Lorelai - don't like the sound of this - too singsongy/tongue twistery!

EggsEleven · 23/02/2017 13:18

I really like Meredith and Juilet. Erica is quite nice too.

I particularly dislike Mara, Daphne, Judith & Lorelai.

Imaginingdragonsagain · 23/02/2017 12:41

I only like Juliet!

Susiethetortoiseshellcat · 23/02/2017 12:35

Juliet and Meredith are gorgeous. The others are nice but not to my taste. I can imagine Lorelei would be really sweet on a baby though and would probably have a cute nickname (Rory?!)

marmitecheesetoast · 23/02/2017 12:32

I like Mara and Juliet the best. Meredith is nice too. I dislike the others, sorry.

OpalIridescence · 23/02/2017 12:01

Not keen on Meredith or Daphne

Like Sadie and Juliet

Love love love Lorelei Wink

Ordinarily · 23/02/2017 11:56

I like Juliet, Erica and Meredith best.

Mara - OK, prefer Marla or Cara for some reason!
India - reminds me of a well-known person I don't like
Meredith - quite like this, sounds a bit mysterious
Daphne - I knew a really lovely Daphne and the meaning is nice
Juliet - fabulous name, classic, literary, not overused
Judith (Jude) - OK but a little hard sounding
Sadie - OK but again sounds slightly hard
Erica - yes, I like this, it's a bit quirky
Monica - a bit "Friends" but I do like it and it's fairly unusual
Lorelai - Don't like

KoalaDownUnder · 23/02/2017 10:32

I like Mara, India, Juliet and Sadie.

Really dislike Meredith, Judith, Monica, Erica and Lorelai.

TeshiB · 23/02/2017 10:31

I only like Juliet.

goldenrachita · 23/02/2017 10:26

Mara- I'd assume Irish background, quite nice.
India- Used to love this and it's pretty, but I think it's a cliché unless you have a particular connection to /interest in India the country. You'd have to at least have been there!
Meredith- very Welsh
Daphne- quite an intellectual kind of name
Juliet- I prefer the spelling Juliette as it seems more feminine but Juliet is an academic's kind of name
Judith (Jude)- My least favourite on this list, but my taste is more 'pretty' names
Sadie- a little bit 'posh hippy', sort of same genre as India
Erica- I used to think it was ugly but I now think it's cool, also academic sounding
Monica- Sounds Italian/Spanish to me.
Lorelai- A different genre to your other names but nice. It's spelt Lorelei though and I'd assume a child names Lorelai had parents who couldn't spell (again, sorry!)

As a whole I'd say the list (exept India, Lorelei, Sadie and Monica) tends to sound 'intellectual' rather than girly. I'd assume the mother was the academic/feminist type who refused to buy anything pink for her girls and hopes they'll go into politics! ;)

Aebj · 23/02/2017 09:54

I stopped at India as I think it's a great name for a girl

MrsHughesCarson · 23/02/2017 09:50

Hate Lorelei, love Daphne. The others are ok.

ExpectoPatronummmm · 23/02/2017 09:48

Fave is Sadie

Lorelie is horrible.

avaj · 23/02/2017 09:22

Mara and Sadie are both lovely, pretty but strong sounding to me.
I like Jude on its own, but not Judith.

Pemba · 23/02/2017 08:34

I like Mara, Meredith, Juliet and Sadie. The others not so much.

Bluntness100 · 23/02/2017 08:20

I don't like Monica or Sadie. Monica because of the series friends, my mind immediately thinks of her and Sadie, I think is quite a harsh sounding name. Apologies to anyone with those names.😞

NapQueen · 23/02/2017 08:16

Juliet for me. It was on our list.

flumpybear · 23/02/2017 08:15

Only like Sadie - I used to like laurelei after a Marilyn Monroe film but that was when I was a kid .... it's too fussy now

SquedgieBeckenheim · 23/02/2017 08:13

Meredith and Lorelei were on our list! So I like those.
Really don't like Judith, Monica, Erica or Daphne.

Purplebluebird · 23/02/2017 08:12

India
Juliet

the only two I like unfortunately!
