If you heard the following names but didn't see the child/know any other details, would you assume they were boys or girls? You haven't seen the names written down so spellings make no difference.

Frankie
Ronnie
Charlie
Sidney/Sydney
Morgan
Riley
Jordan
Ashley
Aubrey
Addison
Emerson
Mackenzie
Phoenix
Brodie
Brogan

Are you new here? Perhaps read some other threads. People comment on all sorts unrelated to the original question.
You are welcome!

SuperBeagle · 20/02/2017 09:57

You didn't comment beyond the original question. You totally ignored the original question and went on to add an irrelevant opinion.

2014newme · 20/02/2017 09:52

It wasn't. But one is permitted to comment beyond the original question. Hope that clarification helps.

SuperBeagle · 20/02/2017 09:49

They are all rather council estate names.

Hmm

Didn't realise that was the question.

2014newme · 20/02/2017 09:48

They are all rather council estate names.

Cobee · 20/02/2017 09:22

Frankie - if spelt that way girl
Ronnie - boy
Charlie - boy
Sidney/Sydney - girl
Morgan - wouldn't presume girl or boy
Riley - boy
Jordan- boy
Ashley - spelt that way boy (girl if spelt Ashleigh)
Aubrey - girl (I think it's because it's sounds like Audrey and I don't know of a child with this name!)
Addison - girl (because of greys anatomy)
Emerson - boy
Mackenzie - boy
Phoenix - girl
Brodie - girl
Brogan - boy

MelCookie · 20/02/2017 09:18

Emerson, Phoenix, Riley = girls. The rest, boys.

whatsagoodusername · 20/02/2017 09:12

Frankie - if young: boy, adult: girl
Ronnie - boy
Charlie - boy
Sidney - boy
Morgan - boy
Riley - boy
Jordan - boy
Ashley - girl
Aubrey - boy
Addison - girl
Emerson - boy
Mackenzie - either
Phoenix - boy
Brodie - boy
Brogan - boy

But I wouldn't be surprised if they turned out to be the opposite of what I had assumed. I know two girls called Jordan and can't remember the last time I met a boy Jordan, but I would still think boy.

greeeen · 20/02/2017 09:12

These I would think were girls:

SuperBeagle · 20/02/2017 08:57

  • Emerson
  • Mackenzie

Boys:

Could be either (wouldn't immediately think one way or the other):

AuntieStella · 20/02/2017 08:51

TheGoodEnoughWife · 20/02/2017 08:44

Is influenced by children you have known. I have known both Charlie and Jordon as girls plus a Morgan who is a boy.

Foreverhungry · 20/02/2017 08:43

I know 11 children with these names and they are all girls.

CocoPorridge · 20/02/2017 08:40

They are all unisex, just wondering what YOU would think the child was if you heard the names.

OP posts:
Catdogcat · 20/02/2017 08:40

I would think:

Girl for Aubrey, Addison, Emerson and Brogan

Boy for the rest
