I like Alfred best

sonlypuppyfat · 18/02/2017 22:40

Archibald and Alfred are indeed rank

Ordinarily · 18/02/2017 22:37
  1. Charles
  2. Edward
  3. Alfred
  4. Archibald

I'm going to disagree with the others and say Archer is worse than Archibald.

BirdsongTweets · 18/02/2017 21:56

Agree with Mrs much prefer Archer to Archibald, Archi-bald Hmm, dont like the 'bald' bit at all.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 18/02/2017 21:49

Charles Francis.

Imaginingdragonsagain · 18/02/2017 21:09

Edward Charles Alfred - like them all. Archibald a very distant last!!

strawberrypenguin · 18/02/2017 20:59

Edward
Alfred
Charles
Archibald

Freddie Francis is a bit ... yeah, so I wouldn't use them together. You seem set on Francis so I think Freddie is out.

Edward - I have one. He is neither Eddie nor Teddy but a different nickname. I thought I'd like and use Eddie but actually when he arrived I couldn't bear it. Weird.

Charles - another of my sons was very nearly Charles but we changed our minds very close to the due date. If he'd been early he probably would have been Charlie!

Archie is fine but trendy. Archibald is awful. Archer is very cool indeed.

So I'd rank

Archer top
Edward / Charles equally - I dislike Eddie and Charles but like Edward and Charlie.
Archie next
Freddie
Archibald dead last.

If our Edward hadn't been Edward he would have been registered Robert and known as Robin.

Charles Francis is lovely.

Thisrabbitthatrabbit · 18/02/2017 20:42

I love Edward, DS1 should be Edward but DPs nickname made it unusable

SuperBeagle · 18/02/2017 20:40

Not Archibald. Archer is infinitely nicer if you want the nickname Archie.

Edward is my favourite. Ed/Eddie and Ned are my favourite nicknames; am not fussed at all on Ted/Teddy but I think I'm in the minority on that.

I like Charles/Charlie too.

I don't like Alfred, and think he would be more likely to get Alf?Alfie as a nickname. What about Frederick if you want Freddie? My DS2 is Frederick and has been Fred since birth. Smile

DeathByMascara · 18/02/2017 20:40

I'd make sure I spelt Archibald properly firstly...

Dh is Edward - so while biased I do like that one! Charlie & Archie are lovely too. Not so keen on Freddie.

NeverTwerkNaked · 18/02/2017 20:40

It's Archibald. I'd spell it right on his birth certificate if you must use it.

I like Edward and Charles

Archie and Alfie sound cute on babies but the full names are pretty awkward for grown ups to carry off
