Which names could I have to use Kitty as a nickname?

Hi everyone, I'm really liking Kitty as a name for DC3 at the minute but I'm not really a fan of Katherine as a longer name to put on the birth certificate.

Dd1 is Evie and I've always regretted not putting a longer name on her birth certificate which she can use when she gets older. She loves the name Evangeline and wishes that had been put on her bc to allow her to pick and choose, hence why I don't want to make the mistake this time round of just giving a cutesy name for baby.
So mumsnetters, can you think of longer names I could have to go with the nickname Kitty?
Thanks a bunch Smile

I know two Kittys. One was Kathleen. The other Katya.

ZebraKid71 · 15/05/2018 20:13

Anything with Cat or Kat in it.. Most have been mentioned above, I also like Katia.

My great aunt was Kitty but her name was Elaine.
Kathryn
Kate
Caitlin
Christina

Claire

Kataleya maybe? I've seen it spelt Cataleya (cat-ah-lay-ah) but it could work with a K!

iris96 · 14/05/2018 12:13

My sister is called Katriona (note the unusual spelling!) and Kitty would work as a nickname for that.

SuiteHarmony · 19/02/2017 21:39

I do like Evangeline too.

Thanks so much guys- lots of options to mull over. I also like the idea of using Kitty as a middle name but referring to her on a day to day basis as Kitty. Also, DD1 has expressed interest in going by Evangeline when she's older but we'll see if she actually goes through with it as she does have a tendency to change her mind a lot. Smile

Catalina and Katya are my favourite Katherine variants.

Merlin40 · 19/02/2017 09:54

Kaitlyn (I know a kitty shortened from this)

MiniMaxi · 19/02/2017 09:43

Charlotte?

rosy71 · 19/02/2017 08:52

Why not just call her Kitty? Or use it as a middle name e.g. Elizabeth Kitty known as Kitty.

sooperdooper · 19/02/2017 08:42

I know a Kirsty nn Kitty

And going back to your OP, there's nothing to stop your Dd1 using Evangeline when she's older if she wants to, plenty of people choose to go day to day by a different name to what's on their birth certificate

Wreckingball25 · 19/02/2017 01:26

Felicity?

HollySykes · 19/02/2017 01:25

Cliff

ElvenMoonwings · 19/02/2017 01:23

Would it help to put a spin on Katherine? What about Catharinissa or Kathrynetta? Ie, Katherine with issa or etta on the end?

IHeartKingThistle · 19/02/2017 00:43

A second vote for Catrin. I had to teach the poem of the same name for years and still love it!

RebelRogue · 19/02/2017 00:41

Buntysoven · 19/02/2017 00:37

Birdsbeesandtrees · 18/02/2017 23:30

I do know a Geoff. He's lovely. If that helps. Grin

Summertime10 · 18/02/2017 23:29

Some excellent suggestions ladies. Kitty on its own may be a possibility, although Geoff is definitely a contender too. Grin
Thank you very much.

My age being 26 btw

Parmaviolets13 · 18/02/2017 22:57

Have you thought about just naming her Kitty? I know two Kitty's - one my age, one 99! It's a lovely name. If you like it why bother naming her anything else? :-)

SuperBeagle · 18/02/2017 22:44

I like Katerina the best.

It can also be spelt:
Katarina
Katharina
Katherina
Catarina (Edgar Allen Poe had a cat named Catarina)
Caterina
