An adopted monkey. I was thinking Arthur, Bertie or Monty. Any ideas?

HerOtherHalf,

Grin Grin Grin

Though, sadly, too true, my friend, too true...

HerOtherHalf · 20/02/2017 15:21

As monkeys are prone to babbling incoherent gibberish and throwing sh!t around, you could call him Trump.

Twistmeandturnme · 20/02/2017 15:20

Marmosets: look cute, smell terrible, horrible tempers and needle sharp teeth.
Beelzebub
...or something very mundane to offset the physical (and misleading) cuteness:

Oh fair enough hopefully it goes well for them

LobsterQuadrille · 20/02/2017 14:12

I'm sorry MrsJayy I have not been on here! I'm sorry but there isn't any Facebook page or details because the girls are only 19 and 20 and their parents are quite anxious about them being so far away anyway, so it's all privately funded by friends and relatives. Thank you though Smile

Oh great name can you tell or PM me the name of the sanctuary are they on facebook i love following animal sanctuaries

SprinkleOfInsanity · 17/02/2017 19:34

Yeay! Fabulous name (and not because I said so ha)

Sounds like a wonderful cause, and I bet they don't come back! Or if they do, they'll go back and be tremendous vets to animals who wouldn't get a shoe-in otherwise! Fabulous, I bet your DD, you and their respective parents are very proud of them.

Long live Cornelius (and the sanctuary) Grin

LobsterQuadrille · 17/02/2017 18:13

I'll ask for photos. It's a monkey sanctuary set up by friends of my DD who are taking a (very) extended gap year- they want to be vets eventually. I admire this and like the fact that the monkeys will be released back into the wild. And I've sent Cornelius as my name, because they all know my cat (Cordelia) and they go well together, if a bit similar Smile

SprinkleOfInsanity · 17/02/2017 17:04

Please do come back and share with us the name you choose for your monkey pal.

William (infinite monkey theorem) - if people don't know why, they won't think your pretentious, so you can indulge in monkey naming stealth pretention Wink Grin

jammyjay · 17/02/2017 09:13

Miles

ErrolTheDragon · 17/02/2017 09:10

I suppose Marmaduke is a bit too obvious for a marmoset?

MrsJayy · 17/02/2017 09:06

We adopt from Monkey world i love it there. Cornelius is a fine name for a marmoset 😊

wannabestressfree · 17/02/2017 07:28

Monkey world in Dorset do amazing work with primates and chimps. I really urge you if your keen to do an adoption to look to their page.

ABCFamily · 17/02/2017 07:03

If you can't be pretentious when naming a monkey, when can you be? Grin

I love Conrad and Thelonius.

He's a baby marmoset- I have no actual photo of him - it's more like one of those "sponsor a goat" things that Oxfam used to do, but this is an actual monkey rather than a theoretical one. Not in this country and I strongly disapprove of zoos to anyone who thought I really had a monkey! Thanks for all the ideas. I rather like Cornelius although I already have a cat called Cordelia ,,,,,

Cornelius.

He'd be bound for great things. And have a monocle.
