Which girls name do you prefer?

Sadie
Amber

Middle name potentially Violet after a relative
1 syllable surname

Sadie, then Amber - could you use Viola instead of Violet for middle name if using Amber.

Don't like the meaning of Claudia.

Prefer Amber but agree re Amber Violet being a no, quite like Claudia, really don't like Sadie (and I can't say it without mentally adding "the bra lady" after a service that used to be advertised on the back of buses in my old hometown, although I appreciate that's a very niche objection and unlikely to cause your DD any problems should you decide to go with Sadie).

I love all three names! I'm put off Claudia because people always seem to pronounce it differently. Also, personally, I'm not keen on Claude as a nn, but you obviously love it which is the main thing!

I really dislike the name Claudia, even though it's the name of one of my best friends who I've known since Kindergarten. You'd think I would've warmed to the name by now, but I still think it's awful.

Sadie is one of my favourites, and Amber is lovely too, but I agree that Amber Violet doesn't work.

Sadie or Amber. Although there are a lot of Ambers being born around here.

Claudia but be prepared for people pronouncing it differently (claw dia or cloud ia) but most people should only need telling once or twice which one you're using

Sadie I would've discounted but for a lovely little girl I knew with that name so I can now picture it on a child (she would be about 13 now)

Claudia is my fave. Sadie is quite trendy I think, quite like it. Amber, not so keen.

Sadie. I loved it for dd (and Amber actually!) but dp wasn't keen. I think it's a lovely name. You can't have Amber violet!

I love Amber but doesn't go with Violet as others have said. I do also really like Claudia.

  1. Sadie - I really love this name! I expect it isn't to everyone's taste though.
  2. Claudia - very nice, really like it, but not as much as I love Sadie.
  3. Amber - I probably would like this, except that know one who has put me off the name.

How about Hazel, Eleanor (Beatles song, like Sadie!) or Harriet?
