What are the baby names you DIDN'T go with?

I've just found a note of possible names on my phone and I found it really interesting the variety of names we considered. We've had two girls so never got to choose a boys names, my absolute favourite boys name is Sebastian and I really would have pushed for that.

What are your unused names? Here are mine:

Laniakea- DD is always horrified by the thought that she could have been called by that Cornish name, and likes Lucinda best out of all the options. DS is horrified by the thought of Constantine, but quite likes Clovis.

Broomstick my dd2 has one of your girl's names the Cornish one as a middle name, I'd've happily used it as her first name but no chance of getting it past dh.

We knew our babies sexes & narrowed it down to two each time. Our unused alternatives were -
dd1 - Cressida
ds1 - Gabriel
dd2 - Helena
ds2 - Idris

DH somehow talked me out of Arlo when I was absolutely certain I wanted it when I was pregnant with ds2. I've since watched Bing and realised it's the name of the cat!

Martha, Tabitha, Susannah and Eva were the ones we agreed on and very nearly used for DD (Blythe, Marianne and Vita were the ones I loved which never got near the table!)

DS could easily have been Zachary/iah, Jacob or Bartholomew (though we both reckoned that was a bit much!)

Minnie for a girl - didn't go with that because DC came out with a mickey Shock

For a boy;
Paddy - my first choice but his dad hated it

Marshall - I loved but dad was on the fence, became a definite no when I gave birth on Eminem's birthday

Oscar - I didn't dislike but didn't like enough

Eric - after Cantona but his dad's family support Everton so I managed to slip it in as middle name as a compromise

Cleo was my first choice for DD2 but DH couldn't get past Renault Clio association.

His first choice for DD1 was Jessica but I had hyperemesis and all I could hear was the "sick" sound in the middle.

We both liked Erin but decided it was too plain. Esme was too fancy. I think our DDs' names are somewhere in between.

Had a boy settled on name pretty quickly during pregnancy had darcy and Ella top of list for a girl...I had heart set on jaxon for a boy or Nancy for a girl but was told no chance

Ewan/Euan as we couldn't agree on spelling.

Holly-Beth or Bethan were the names for Ds.

Iseult and Sorcha are interesting - I hadn't heard them before but like them. I imagine they'd spend their entire lives spelling it or correcting people though.

exactly why I ditched them. Still regret Sorcha a bit but a woman called Sorcha told me not to do it (we don't live in Ireland - if we did, I'd have gone for it).

Eoin Roe is another one that was on my list

Girls were Amelie, Orla, Imogen and Freya from our daughter's list

Second time Posy and Flora as we had a boy but boys names we disregarded were Benedict, Atticus, Crispin (husbands choice)!
