Stumped

I'm a 45 year old mum to be, 'surprise" ! (shock)
I already have three grown ups, Lucien, Charlotte and George ( I know) I need something for a girl, fairly classic, beginning with L, does anyone have any ideas? I have been through every online listing. Don't want Lysandra or Lucy or Louise.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

💐Congratulations!

I'm actually not keen on any L names. If it were me I'd find another way to honour your Mum, maybe use her name as your DD's middle name.

I'm sure she'll be a total delight for all of you, whatever you call her 😊

Could you perhaps pay tribute to your mother in another way? What did her name mean - perhaps there is another version of it? Or her middle name?

HeteronormativeHaybales · 10/02/2017 17:30

Laetitia. Larissa. And another vote for Lydia, lovely name.

(Just now this thread came up in Baby Names between one entitled Maura and one entitled Mackenzie. I did think 'Someone wants to call their kids Stumped? Poor kid. Worse than Balonz' Grin )

If your brother has used your DM's name and you can't decide on a name beginning with L, maybe there was a particular flower or place or song she liked...?

I like Lara - is it that new? (Thinking of heroine of "Dr Zhivago" published 1957, rather than Lara Croft).

AmyInTheBoonies · 10/02/2017 16:02

Lucinda would fit well with your other names. It doesn't have to be shortened to Lucy.

TheLongRains · 10/02/2017 16:01

Lucia? I know two absolutely lovely, grown up Lucias - one is "loo-chee-ah", the other is "loo-sha"

And congrats!

3littlebadgers · 10/02/2017 16:01

Lauren is a lovely name.

Lydia

Lana? Lacey? Lynette? Leia? Leah? Lillian? Lorelei? Lucinda? And Jade as a curveball.

NapQueen · 10/02/2017 16:00

Could you use her middle name or a variation on her surname?

NapQueen · 10/02/2017 15:59

L names I like are

Liv
Lola
Luna
Laurie (probs technically a boys name but hey ho!)
Lyra
