Thoughts on these boys names?

These are the names that neither DH nor I hate, aren't the names of anyone we hate, or the names of close relatives or royalty (surname is a royal title):

Adam
Ryan
Liam
Sam (uel)

Any thoughts on these or similar (non Royal) suggestions please?

I'm guessing your surname is king?
How about
Max
William
Andrew
Dillon
Saul
Benjamin
Toby

Jenniferb21 · 09/02/2017 21:03

I've always loved Samuel and even sam for short.

What is your surname that makes a big difference

How about some other biblical names? Matthew, Gabriel, Ezekiel those type of names. Traditional as well so thought you might be consider them although the latter is much more unusual x

Pogolphin · 09/02/2017 20:57

It must feel like all the good names are taken!

Marcus
Peter
Laurence

BoysNameHelpNeeded · 09/02/2017 15:45

Matthew is a good name but I have a very very close relative with that name. Any name with a K or hard C sound in it is ruled out as it clashes horribly with our surname.

I like Adam, and Samuel is OK but feels a bit bland. Not keen on Liam or Ryan.

Adam or Samuel for me.

Agree that Ryan is dated.

Juveniledelinquent · 08/02/2017 19:30

I love Adam.

I like Samuel. There's at least one Adam in every year at my dc's school.

Bringbacksummer · 08/02/2017 19:24

I like Adam best, then Sam(uel)

Ryan is okay but I really dislike Liam.

Montsti · 08/02/2017 18:14

I like Samuel and don't mind Adam. Not keen on the others...

raviolidreaming · 08/02/2017 13:22

Adam and Liam were on my list, so I vote for them Smile

PaintingOwls · 08/02/2017 10:59

Nicholas, Timothy, David, Andrew?

BoysNameHelpNeeded · 08/02/2017 10:53

No clear winners so far. Hmmm.

I do like Thomas Alexander and Daniel but have close relatives with those names. Not keen on Dylan. I like Oliver but hate Olly/Ollie, Lucas is too close to DD's name, and I struggle to pronounce Joshua and James with my accent.

I keep thinking glorious inspiration will strike, DS will be delivered in just over 3 weeks Shock

We had all of these on our short list for our baby boy so I like all of them! We've chosen to go with Adam for our boy :-)

Others on our list were Oliver, James, Alexander, Dominic, Ethan, Oscar, Zachary, Lucas, Joshua, Daniel (some of those might be too royal though?!),
