What do you all think? We like old fashioned 'proper' type names, & we both really like it! Opinions, please.

I like Beatrix, it's a really lovely name.

But Trixie just makes me think of a yappy terrier. Sorry! Blush

BossWitch · 03/02/2017 20:57

Love it. Taught one a few years ago, she was lovely! She went by Beattie (bee-tea)

GreatScot8 · 03/02/2017 20:53

I like it more than Beatrice, but it still doesn't sound nice in my Australian accent (bee-trix, not bee-uh-trix).

MrsMeeseeks · 03/02/2017 20:13

I love Beatrix, but after seeing a thread in Chat (or was it AIBU) the other day, I'm not so sure about it. The OP had a little Beatrix and was complaining that everyone pronounced it Beatrice!

Beatrice is lovely too, but it would just annoy me too much to have to go around correcting people all the time.

teenybean · 03/02/2017 18:58

We don't like Beatrice, so she will definitely be Beatrix Smile

Not a fan. Sorry. Although I prefer it to Beatrice.

Trixie sounds like a "lady of the night" name Blush

AmyInTheBoonies · 03/02/2017 17:08

Lovely, though prefer Beatrice spelling.

NameyMcNamerson83 · 03/02/2017 17:00

Love it, it's on my list too!

BlytheOfWindyWillows · 03/02/2017 16:59

Love, love, love it Smile

veryfriendlylion · 03/02/2017 16:53

Love it...but then I am biased, currently cuddling my six week old Beatrix!

So glad we chose it as her name, it really suits her and get so many compliments on it (not that we chose it for other people but you get my drift!)

teenybean · 03/02/2017 15:55

I don't think I've ever seen so many yes's for a name! Grin

Lovely

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 03/02/2017 13:15

Love it ! Trixie is sweet.

SkyLucy · 03/02/2017 11:52

LOVE Beatrix. My baby's due imminently and we've chosen her (different) name, but Beatrix popped into my head two days ago and I can't stop thinking about it!! Daren't tell DH, or the company from which I ordered handmade wooden letters spelling the original name!!

YouWereRight · 03/02/2017 11:48

I know one, and I keep accidentally calling her Bellatrix Blush

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 03/02/2017 11:48

You both really like it. That's the deal breaker.

She could use Beatie or Trixie for nns. If she wishes.
