Penelope i wouldn't want to be called olive as it is a food

londonfeather · 04/02/2017 08:03

I love Olive, I think it is cute. It reminds me of the girl in little miss sunshine

MrsPringles · 04/02/2017 08:02

Penelope - I love it

Cosleepdependent · 04/02/2017 08:01

Olive is beautiful.
She may sometimes need to explain pronunciation of penelopEE. (I thought the written name was penny-lope' for yearsBlush.)
Penny would be easier to deal with but it's less pretty than Olive, or even Liv, which she might also get.

daisydaisychain · 04/02/2017 07:42

Penelope is lovely!

Murine · 03/02/2017 21:46

I prefer Penelope

catwoman0815 · 03/02/2017 19:28

olive!

MollyHuaCha · 03/02/2017 17:41

Penelope. We wd have chosen this gorgeous name, but coupled with our surname, it sounded like Penelope Pitstop, so we had to let the name go.

NotSoEagerBeaver · 03/02/2017 17:35

If I'd had a girl I would have had an Olive, I LOVE that name Smile

However, I keep producing boys...

Masterclef · 03/02/2017 17:32

Penelope nn Nell

Mol1628 · 03/02/2017 16:57

Penelope. I really don't like Olive. Just sounds a bit.... ugly. Sorry.

PontypandyPioneer · 03/02/2017 16:56

I love Olive - that was the name we picked had DS been a girl! It was also my Nanna's name who was a lovely lovely person so it only has good memories & meaning for me.

septembersunshine · 03/02/2017 16:48

Olive sounds quite ugly. Quite heavy. Penelope is gorgous and penny very cute.

FromDistantOphir · 03/02/2017 16:42

Olive

No one under the age of 50 I reckon knows about On the Buses

Dolwar · 03/02/2017 16:40

I like Penelope. It's one I've considered actually. I know a girl called that, nn Penny.

Pipilangstrumpf · 03/02/2017 16:08

Olive is a green oily olive to me, sorry Blush

So I vote Penelope

SerialReJoiner · 03/02/2017 13:44

I have a Penelope. :) I really liked the nn Nell or Poppy when I was pregnant, but we ended up using the ubiquitous Penny instead. We've only met one other child Penny, so I don't know about its popularity rising.

TheNumberfaker · 03/02/2017 13:41

Penelope definitely.

MrsGB2225 · 03/02/2017 13:09

Penelope

KlingybunFistelvase · 03/02/2017 13:09

Olive but like both.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 03/02/2017 13:06

Penelope.

Nospringflower · 03/02/2017 13:05

Not keen on Olive. Think it soinds old and dour.

Jojo13 · 03/02/2017 13:03

Love Penelope (not keen on Penny as a nn though)

crapfatbanana · 03/02/2017 10:05

I like Penny but Penelope is too frilly for me. Olive I'm on the fence about.

Tantrictantrum · 03/02/2017 09:06

Yeah but most flowers are - Poppy, Primrose, even Ivy. Not many fruits and vegetables are permitted. Gwyneth has an Apple and that was unusual.
Not a dig by the way, just an observation .
