Brother for Nicholas

We like traditional English names, nothing too trendy or yooneek, the type of thing where they could be a judge or a bricklayer. Here's our shortlist, please order in preference, critique, or add suggestions of similar we might like. Thank you.

Thanks everyone. Funny, lots of the suggestions were on either mine or dh's lists but we didn't both like them. Dh not keen on Dan now, so I think It'll be Joseph or Michael.

Joseph is great.

I know a little Seph (or maybe it's Seff, not seen it written down) but I don't know if that's a name that'd work as an nn in the UK.

Yes we are Christian, broadly - more in the cultural sense than religious (Christmas, Easter eggs, not regular church-goers). Good point I suppose that it's a thing as well as name, he might end up Buddhist or staunch atheist or something. I'm not too keen on Christopher though.

Was thinking of names that would go with Nichoals and came up with Alexander (Nic and Alex sounds lovely)
