Lynn or Sky?

It will be Lynn or Sky (we don't like the extra unnecessary 'e' on either name).

I was thinking this week that Lynn or Lynne, as I see it spelt in my head, is due a renaissance.
It's really nice.
Then someone mentioned Linnet! Oh I love that name so much.
My naming days are far behind me but in my next life I hope I am called Linnet or am a Linnet 😊

I prefer Lynn. but I really like Linnet which is similar but less associated with a particular generation.

i like Sky. Although prefer the Skye spelling a little bit more because of makes me think of Isle of Skye.

Lynn just makes me instantly think of Alan Partridge, sorry!

Common can either mean very numerous. Or common as in "common as muck". Not something anyone should aspire to.

Lyn is a strong name, not common but also not too out there. Sky, if you like it, go for it.

I'm in my 40's and the majority of lynnes that I know are at least ten years older. It's really dated and not even pretty. Sky is an ice name although becoming more popular, but definitely spelt Skye

Both are unisex names.

The only female lynnes that I know are over 60.

Llinos is Welsh, but please don't use it in England unless you can pronounce the Ll sound.

Absolutely yes ^. I am English but went to university in Wales. One of the ladies who cleaned our halls of residence was called Llinos. We oh-so-hilarious English students found it most amusing that the cleaner was called Cleanos. It makes me feel rather embarrassed now, poor lady, and very aware of blundering English pronunciations!

I think Lyn is rather pretty actually (prefer the one 'n' for some reason). And Skye rather than Sky.

Linnet is gorgeous imo. So pretty but not with the ubiquitous ee sound at the end of modern girl's name.

Lynn is gorgeous and due a revival. Also Linnet is nice and unusual. Or even Llinos which is Welsh, I think.

I'm a primary school teacher (25+years) and I've never had a Lynn yet. Many Skys.

I like Lynn if you want a 'proper' name that's not a popular one.

Sky(e) is a bit 'of the moment' for me and might date badly
