Just that really - love them both and can't decide which I prefer!

I'm a flora and I quite like it now. I was teased about the margarine connotations as a child, so didn't really like it then, but I'd never heard "flora spreads easily" until I started reading mumsnet name threads! I think that must have been a really old advert? I do find it a bit annoying that people mistake my name for Laura (even when I've just repeated it clearly... the name flora just isn't on some people's radar) but overall now that I'm an adult I'd rather be called flora than something "boring" for want for a better word. I know we all disagree on which names are boring though and I'm not implying that Susannah is boring - I like Susannah.

Flora is nice, but Susannah is gorgeous. An underused classic, with such a wide choice of short forms - Susie, Sukey, Zanna, etc.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 28/01/2017 11:07

Flora. Love this name.

Stonewash · 28/01/2017 11:07

Both gorgeous! Can't decide sorry OP, but I love your style Smile

GinghamChicken · 28/01/2017 08:26

We have a gorgeous, feisty, joyful niece called Suzannah, often shortened to Zannah. Love it!

thebakerwithboobs · 28/01/2017 00:33

Flora! I love it x

BuntyFigglesworthSpiffington · 28/01/2017 00:30

Even putting the margarine thing aside, Flora reminds me more of gut flora than beautiful flowers.

MiniMaxi · 28/01/2017 00:29

I love Susannah!

Bobochic · 28/01/2017 00:29

Flora - my DD is a Flora and I love it.

Sophronia · 28/01/2017 00:28

Susannah is beautiful. I would use it if my DH liked it.

alltouchedout · 27/01/2017 23:02

Definitely Susannah, it's lovely.

roseteapot101 · 27/01/2017 22:57

Susannah ,its a shame flora is a spread as it does sound nice but unfortunately due to this i personally would not use it.

you could use Florentia

pilates · 27/01/2017 22:49

Susannah
Flora - a big no! She will be teased.

llangennith · 27/01/2017 22:41

Susannah

DramaAlpaca · 27/01/2017 22:38

Another vote for Susannah.

Enkopkaffetak · 27/01/2017 22:27

I adore both. Both dh and I love Flora however our surname starts FL and you just knew that would be a issue for a small one so we took it off.

I like Susannah a lot however Flora is "my" unused favourite name. SO Flora gets my vote. I know its a margarine however I still hear " flora" and think flowers rather than Marg.

HumphreyCobblers · 27/01/2017 22:03

Susannah is gorgeous. I always had it in mind. Very under used.

TalkingofMichaelAngel0 · 27/01/2017 22:02

Susannah definitely

BuntyFigglesworthSpiffington · 27/01/2017 22:02

Susannah. It just sounds so joyful.

TempsPerdu · 27/01/2017 22:02

Susannah - it's beautiful.

Uhohmummy · 27/01/2017 22:01

Looks like it's unanimous.
I love them both but DH prefers Susannah. He'll be happy!
