I think we may have decided? Brother is Dylan.

Chunder, I must live near you. To me it's a staffie name.

MarilynWhirlwindRocks · 26/01/2017 23:19

Joeybee,

"For me it's too cutesy, I can't see a woman called Tia being taken seriously. However as nn for something I think it's ace."

I know what you mean, even though I disagree and really like it, but this Tia certainly proves otherwise! I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure it's her full name, not a NN.

LovelyBranches · 26/01/2017 23:09

I prefer Thea

Chunder · 26/01/2017 22:55

Everyone around here seems to call their staffies Tia.

MikeUniformMike · 26/01/2017 22:29

Tia E. Teary.

MikeUniformMike · 26/01/2017 22:23

Tia drops

Mum2jenny · 26/01/2017 22:01

Tia = thanks in advance for me, sorry.

Mungobungo · 26/01/2017 21:58

As a medical type I can't not see it as T.I.A (transient ischaemic attack). Same as MIA is a common abbreviation for missing in action. Sorry.

Also, if you say it in anger I think sounds like a sneeze.

leccybill · 26/01/2017 21:53

I think it's more like Rey-a

MrsMoastyToasty · 26/01/2017 21:05

Tia spelled with an accent over the "i" is Spanish for aunty.

Joeybee · 26/01/2017 21:03

For me it's too cutesy, I can't see a woman called Tia being taken seriously. However as nn for something I think it's ace.

MrsSchadenfreude · 26/01/2017 20:56

Rhea End, though?!

leccybill · 25/01/2017 18:55

I like Rhea. Heard this recently and liked it.

Tia is the 00s version of the 80s Tina.
I also know a staff bull terrier called Tia.

Sadfacehappyface · 25/01/2017 18:47

I really like the name Tia but it always makes me think of Thanks In Advance when I see the name. I also think Missing In Action when I see the name Mia.

novelsandnaps · 25/01/2017 18:36

I know a wonderful Tia, not chavvy whatsoever. She has also lived in Spain and no problems with the name there. x

EssentialHummus · 25/01/2017 18:31

Lovely

indigo13 · 25/01/2017 18:28

Its very pretty but there's not enough to it for me

pinkieandperkie · 25/01/2017 18:08

I went to school with a lovely girl called Ria.

MollyHuaCha · 25/01/2017 18:06

Tia is really lovely.

VanillaSugar · 25/01/2017 18:03

Tia Maria Grin

joannegrady90 · 25/01/2017 18:01

Not keen on it at all.

Went to school with a few Tias. All chavvey and very much similar.

MrsSchadenfreude · 25/01/2017 11:59

Nice. I have an Estonian friend called Tiia.

elQuintoConyo · 25/01/2017 11:56

Autumnal just one raised eyebrow Grin

I live in Spain with a Spanish DH and I don't think it is weird. It wouldn't work here, that's not to say it wouldn't work in the UK. DS has a Tia Maria and she loves her moniker!

It isn't like Tia = Spanish for bumhole, or something.

MarmiteDoesYouGood · 25/01/2017 11:51

As a Spanish speaker it sounds weird as a name to me.

Notso · 25/01/2017 11:21

I don't like it at all.
