Suggestions for girls' names?!

Hello, DH and I are expecting DC2. We are not finding out the baby's sex, but we are pretty sure we have a boys name picked out.

Absolutely cannot agree on a girls name, and to be honest I haven't been able to think of any that I feel really strongly about. Any I do like, DH doesn't or vice versa, or they don't sound good with our surname.

DD's name is Katherine, and I guess we are looking for something in a similar vein. Classic and timeless. well, we think so anyway...

Some examples of names I quite like are Anna, Melissa and Grace, but DH isn't massively keen on those. I'm not hugely enthusiastic about them anyway.

Suggestions massively appreciated...thanks!

Some fab suggestions here! Loving Hazel, Lucy, Phoebe, Emily is nice but a close friend has just named their daughter Emily. Perhaps Amelie though?

I love Alexandra but it doesn't work with our surname sadly. Same issue with Emma. I love love love Stella but DH isn't keen 🙄

Thank you, some fab suggestions here.

I do like Grace I must admit, but it doesn't really go too well with our surname sadly. I mean it's not a disaster but enough for DH to say no. He's being a bloody nightmare this time round, he's so picky then suggests one hideous name and I assume he's joking!

I like Matilda, love Madeleine but DH doesn't like thess two 🙄

I hadn't thought of Sarah, that's a nice one.

I don't like Elizabeth, Mary, Helen or Louise/Louisa at all. Not sure why, just never liked those names. Not keen on Rosemary but quite liking Rosalie as an alternative?

Harriet is quite cool. I liked Victoria the last time round, I had forgotten about that one.

Defineoy not Nicola. We're in Scotland. No way am I naming my child after Sturgeon 😂

I think I might be looking for something slightly unusual but just not sure what...

Ps. I do like Grace very much and it's lovely with Katherine.

Izzyathome · 25/01/2017 01:47

To me names like Katherine are Elizabeth, Victoria, Rebecca, Caroline, Helen, Nicola... is this the kind of thing? I assume you've thought of these! Are you looking for something more unusual second time round?

Aquamarine1029 · 25/01/2017 01:41

Katherine and Madeleine.
Katherine and Lucille.
Katherine and Rosemary.

If you like Melissa, how about Clarissa? Bad rep because of that stupid Melissa Joan Hart show (ironically!) but kids these days won't know about it.

Or Louisa? I think that's due a comeback.
