I've seen a lot of this, and I love unusual names so I'm wondering what names you would have loved to use but couldnt/wouldnt go for it as its too out there?

for me it'd have to be some of the lesser heard of mythological names Smile

SharkBastard · 29/01/2017 20:27

I've a Minerva (roman version of Athena), I'm 28 weeks with a DS, I wanted Xerxes for a first name but it's going to be his middle name now.

I love a strong name some of these are magnificent!

JujuMonster · 29/01/2017 20:15

We have a Juno. It was the most out there name on our lists and I wasn't sure, but then she came and she was a Juno. Glad we went with it and she loves her name.

Also loving Nyx, Gaia, and Aurora, although Aurora seems to be very popular around ours, so maybe not that out there anymore.

My imaginary twin boys would be Gaius and Galen over DPs dead body

confessionsofalazyperson · 28/01/2017 19:06

Xander

BlueClearSkies · 28/01/2017 18:31

Ebenezer makes me think of that dodgy song by the Shamen. I think you have to be of a certain vintage though Grin

NowwhatdoIdo123 · 28/01/2017 09:47

Ebenezer - it's a really old English name but everyone told m it would be cruel because people will just think Scrooge. :)

PlasticBertrand · 28/01/2017 06:39

Sébastienne for a girl. Was never going to happen, DH wouldn't even countenance it.

ABCFamily · 28/01/2017 04:12

GIRLS:
Damaris
Demelza
Elara
Eris
Hester
Hermione (although I'd be tempted to use this as a middle name)
Jessamine
Myra (for obvious reasons…)
Niobe
Nyx
Ophelia
Sorrel

BOYS:
Dennis
Digory
Emrys (nobody in our family is remotely Welsh)
Griffin
Hamish (nobody in our family is remotely Scottish)
Leopold
Phineas
Tarquin

PersisFord · 27/01/2017 19:07

We have twin girls. I wanted Persis and Hero.

MummysMaison · 27/01/2017 17:18

Arianne and Gabriel

RedCrab · 27/01/2017 17:06

I'm pregnant with DC3 - who will be DD2. Our children have quite out there names already, although I don't think they're that crazy. Discussing names with DH, I say I really like River.

He says nah, too out there.

And then he suggests Blue or Seven.

Hmm
Kelsey28 · 26/01/2017 17:52

Riley, Blake, Blair for girls but OH hates "boys names for girls" as he calls them. Sunny or Buddy for a boy.

Daisypopslop · 26/01/2017 17:50

Persephone we debated long and hard over that one.
Bluebell was also discussed.
DD name has been mentioned on this thread but it's a well known girls name.

Bigfam · 26/01/2017 15:03

Dh's cousin is naming her boy Roman.
We named dd born in December Romany.

I love quincy (not the throat infection!!!) and quentin

adagio · 26/01/2017 14:57

Juno

DearMrDilkington · 26/01/2017 14:20

I'm suprised how normal some of these are! My dds name has been mentioned.

I love Hunter but I'm not brave enough to use it. I remember a woman shouting 'oi untaa get ere' to her ds in b&m which put me off slightly..

I've also heard of a baby blossom! I definitely wouldn't be brave enough for that though.

HolisticAssassin · 26/01/2017 14:10

Hunter

Holmes

Buildthemup · 26/01/2017 14:07

Wish so much I had called one of my DSs Fox. I nearly did and have always regretted.

Sassenach85 · 26/01/2017 14:04

Magnus for a boy

DH said no chance
