Autumn Wren - please tell me it's ok?

Baby girl is 4 weeks old. We love Autumn Wren. Is it just too 'Yankee'? Sad

user - not sure if you're aware that Wren is actually used as a name. I'm pretty sure there is no one called Wallpaper, what an odd comment Hmm

Autumn Violet was our other choice, but would like to save Violet for a future child (if we happen to have a second daughter).

Poor child!! Have you considered Summer Seaweed? Winter Walnut? Spring Wallpaper? Please don't set her up for the teasing and embarrassment. So unfair.

I can see why season names are attractive to people but season names followed by something nature related always brings up the image of a scented candle for me, whereas something like Autumn Jean doesn't

I like the names separately. Not together.

Kids find out middle names as a curiosity/asking and comparing and by seeing it written down... once they knew she was "Autumn Wren" i dont think it'd be soon forgotten and she'd be teased regularly, sorry.

I really love it! And I am generally one for traditional names. But as pp have noted, December is meteorological winter. Early December does qualify as astronomical autumn though www.metoffice.gov.uk/learning/learn-about-the-weather/how-weather-works/seasons/winter/when-does-winter-start

Yes December 21st was when winter started. She was born way before then. Please educate yourself before trying to make a point!

I love both names individually but I'm not keen on two nature names together. I think it would be better if one name was just a name, rather than a word with a meaning, iyswim.

But I don't think its an awful combination that will scar your child for life or anything Smile.

I too thought the post was going to be about birds....
I love both names together it's a bit to "hippy" for me reminiscent of Moon Lovechild type names.

I love both of these names. I think if they were hyphenated it would definitely be a bit much but as a middle name I say go for it.

How could you call her autumn if she was born in December? Love wren though... but my dd was over 11lbs when she was born so hardly the smallest songbird GrinI went for my no 2 choice!
