Baby girl is 4 weeks old. We love Autumn Wren. Is it just too 'Yankee'? Sad

Autumn is getting popular, agreeing with whoever said. Not that that would bother me. Autumn is faux hippy, bit like Summer (Summer even more popular).

What is the appeal of Wren here on here? It mst be in the Mumsnet baby names top 10, especially for a middle! Wren is just so dull. I think I've heard it suggested far too much as 'left of field' choice.

KanyeWesticle · 05/01/2017 22:18

Autumn Madeleine and Autumn Kate are lovely. Autumn Wren does sound a bit like a breed.

I think Autumn is a lovely name. even for a December baby. It really doesn't have to be seasonally accurate.

However, date wise winter has to start earlier than 3 weeks before midwinter? So just explain "we chose Autumn because we liked the name, she was born in December."

Sophronia · 05/01/2017 22:05

Autumn Madeleine or Autumn Kate are nicer

LovedByAll · 05/01/2017 21:44

We wouldn't use Wren as a first name, we do love it, but love it as a middle name.

Autumn Wren is, as others have said, a great name, but only for a paint colour.

Wren is a lot nicer than Autumn though, and Wren Autumn doesn't sound so twee and could work?

dollyollymolly · 05/01/2017 21:41

Too much together.

I love the name Wren though.

YouMeanYouForgotCranberriesToo · 05/01/2017 21:39

I love it!

Artandco · 05/01/2017 21:38

I mean another middle name

Ie Autumn Elizabeth Wren Surname

Or whatever you fancy

Autumn Katelyn Wren Surname
Autumn Katarina Wren Surname
Autumn Catherine Wren Surname

puttingthegenieback · 05/01/2017 21:38

Agree with the F&B paint colour comment. Re Autumn Kate: Winter Kate is a clothing label.... FWIW I prefer Wren to Autumn. Wren seems easier to pair with another name, too.

Scrounged · 05/01/2017 21:35

I like all your name choices. They are pretty. I really dont understand why people worry about middle names so much. Other than when you are announcing your new babies name nobody ever uses them. It really doesn't matter if the middle name goes with the first name.

Leanin15yearsmaybe · 05/01/2017 21:35

Autumn Madeleine is my favourite so far.

As an aside...a name is a name, it doesn't matter when she was born. I know several Summers, Mays and June's with birthdays that don't reflect their names. Lots of Johns that weren't born in the john too!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 05/01/2017 21:35

Autumn Kate is lovely.

guest2013 · 05/01/2017 21:30

It'd be OK for an animal, like a pedigree cat maybe. Not a human.

walruswhiskers · 05/01/2017 21:28

It's a bit Farrow and Ball paint swatch. Pretty enough - I love Wren - but might be a bit much together.

Pluto30 · 05/01/2017 21:27

Oh Autumn Kate is my favourite.

user1479478419 · 05/01/2017 21:25

I love it! But then again my little lady (3 weeks old) is called Wren Grin we fell in love with it

LovedByAll · 05/01/2017 21:25

Art, Wren would be the middle name Smile

OP posts:
LovedByAll · 05/01/2017 21:24

Soub, we don't mind (obviously!) what colour it is/goes Smile

We think it might end up red though, as my whole family is and DH's family does (he is the only one with brown hair, pretty much!)

Artandco · 05/01/2017 21:23

It's a bit like a product own after another. Can you add a middle name?

Autumn Elizabeth Wren
Autumn Theodora Wren
Autumn Juliana Wren

LovedByAll · 05/01/2017 21:22

Oh, we also like Autumn Kate?

OP posts:
Soubriquet · 05/01/2017 21:22

Don't count on it staying dark Grin

Ds had black hair with blonde highlights when he was born. Every midwife commented on it because it was beautiful

He now has a head of bright blonde hair

LovedByAll · 05/01/2017 21:20

She has so much dark hair! Smile

Pluto30 · 05/01/2017 21:14

Autumn Madeleine is infinitely better.

I love Wren, but Autumn Wren sounds like a kind of bird, and Autumn Violet doesn't work either. Two nature names never work well together.

thebakerwithboobs · 05/01/2017 21:14

Not very well explained but that was for the 'was she born in Autumn' comments Smile

thebakerwithboobs · 05/01/2017 21:14

It's a beautiful name. Just as a passing comment, my first name is a month....and not a month I was born in. Genuinely, I can probably only count on one hand how many people have asked if I was born in the month of my name. It's a non-issue. I love Wren too!
