I would assume you had called Baby after Kevin. And that is not a good thing.

SorenLorensonsInvisibleFriend · 04/01/2017 07:17

PotatoWaffleCob, that was excellent. I shall sing it all day in homage to you, Kev, and this thread.

#And it looks like I'm falling all over again, head over heels in looove with yoooooou#.

Harsh.
You are all very harsh.
And not as knowledgeable as you think 👍🏼

I know a Keegan , he's 17, nice lad but what the fuck was his Mother thinking!

1horatio · 03/01/2017 14:57

Louis

I really wanted Castor for a boy. Mythology, astronomy, nice sound, not too popular.

If I hadn't ran that by DH before going on mumsnet I may have had similar comments. I didn't know Castor was the stomach loosening oil in the UK... 😂🙈

EmpressOfTheSpartacusOceans · 03/01/2017 14:57

I think it would work anywhere except England, Louis!

Louis2016 · 03/01/2017 14:49

Oh gosh no isn't a wind up, was just looking at Irish names. Clearly it's a no go though!

It's not the type of name that will be 'appreciated' on MN.

I don't think it's the type of name that will be appreciated by many people in the UK.

LunaLoveg00d · 03/01/2017 12:28

Awful. I know one Keegan and he is a very badly behaved child which also colours my judgement.

Surely the only reason it's a first name (in UK anyway) is because people gave chosen to name their child after Kevin?

Keegan Allen is another actor.

I actually quite like it, the sound is nice - but I think you would get lots of wtf kevin keegan comments from a lot of British people unfortunately!

Beebeeeight · 03/01/2017 09:48

If you are American it's maybe ok.

What about Christian? Kieran? Kirk? Kalan? Kano? Kin? Kinney? Kurt?

Threelittlerobins · 03/01/2017 09:40

Kevin. 70s. Dodgy perm.

IAmNotTheOneWhoKnocks · 03/01/2017 09:38

What about Kieran? Sounds similar and is less Kevin-y.

mrspitt · 03/01/2017 09:34

Couldn't not answer on this one!!
I have a Keegan.
In Gaelic it means little fiery one. And boy did I pick the right name for my son, though not so much little now at 6ft 3!
Plenty people use surnames as first names, though in my opinion Keegan is a first name.
Don't worry about what other people think. Your baby. Your choice Smile

Gallavich · 03/01/2017 09:31

Princess Tiiaami is someone's first name, doesn't make it a normal first name does it?
Apple?
Moon Unit?
Keegan is a surname.

user1483387154 · 03/01/2017 09:31

really dislike

NewTownVelocity · 03/01/2017 09:26

Absolutely awful.

LucyInTheSkyWithDonuts · 03/01/2017 09:22

Awful. Just because someone else has used it as a first name doesn't stop it being a surname.
